Response on Professional Mentorship
Nursing is a duty that makes people very active. Mentorship is very critical in the profession. It needs an individual to be guided about it and how to do activities for the work to be done very well (Eller, Lev & Feurer, 2014). My mentor helped me a lot in the profession. He taught me the best way of talking to the patients and their families to explain to them about the patients’ healthcare. My mentor was outspoken and did not hide the fact that nursing was a very cautious profession; he told me that I needed to show seriousness in the profession. I needed to have a good relationship with the patients. The perfect relationship would help me talk to the patients and their families without fear. I would also be like my mentor to mean that I would tell people more about my profession and its importance.
