            There are other types of addictions apart from alcohol or drugs. These are sex, shopping, lying, and technology habits. I agree with the statement that; shopping addictions lead to more devastating outcomes. Many people link shopping addictions to hoarding issues which for sure go hand in hand. Shopping addictions indeed contribute to social isolation, family discord, health problems, and financial matters. I agree that most of these addictions do require family support and therapy to get rid of them (Jee & Eun, 2018). Family helps one to overcome a breakup or a particular habit. From your statement that cutting the credit cards will assist in getting over shopping addiction, I would instead consider not cutting them with the main aim of teaching self-control. I support the point of giving the finances to a trustworthy person to handle them because it limits the cases of overspending.

Sex is another type of addiction. I support that, individuals with sex addictions go outside their marriages to fulfill their desires and in turn, have affairs which eventually ruins their marriage, children if any, family as well as their lives (Richman, 2018). Lying is another type of addiction. I agree that lying is life damaging because it may make one lose a job after being caught in a lie. I agree that water, food, and sexual stimulation, can increase the level of dopamine in nucleus accumbens of fats apart from drugs. Behavioral addictions require family support and therapy to help them recover and “stay clean.”

Drugs such as Caffeine and heroine are indeed addictive (Richman, 2018). They block adenosine receptors, thus, increasing the release of acetylcholine and dopamine, which contributes to arousal, whose symptoms are shakiness, fatigue, and headaches. Another form of addiction is over exercising. I argue that it is healthy to do body exercises but not in excess since, too much of everything is poisonous. I support that over-exercising is not healthy since it causes anorexia (Jee, & Eun, 2018). I agree that gamblers feel good when gambling, as a result of the increased dopamine chemical in the brain, which releases the neurotransmitters.

People addicted to gambling do not fear losing or winning, but rush into gambling activities. Individuals with low levels of serotonin in the brain are indeed more prone to pathological gambling, unlike others (Lostutter et al., 2019). Gambling is life damaging since; it causes financial debts and family problems, that may influence someone to steal to continue gambling (Lostutter et al., 2019). It is difficult to get rid of these addictions, but family support and therapy can assist to a more significant extent.
