RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNMENT MATRIX
Purpose
The Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM) is used to describe the participation levels of different organizations and individuals relative to their roles while undertaking a project. RAM is used by program managers to clarify their roles and responsibilities as stipulated in cross-functional teams while carrying out different projects and processes (Project Planning, 2010, pp. 1). As such, RAM purposes of spurring responsibility among project partakers with the aim of actualizing stipulated goals and objectives. Also, RAM is used to increase accountability by accomplishing designated tasks within the required timeframe hence making every task deliverable. Besides, RAM ensures that every project stakeholder is informed and kept up to date with the current progress in a project.
Benefits
RAM improves communication between team members to ensure that project operations run on smoothly. Thus, RAM removes barriers to communication while undertaking critical projects which require high levels of expertise and competence. Also, RAM helps reduce overlaps which results in numerous mistakes if no proper attention is not provided while carrying out key projects. Hence, it is easier to identify individuals avoiding their responsibilities leading to the failure of a project mostly due to toxicity in the working environment (Travis, 2018, pp. 1). Furthermore, RAM serves to identify staffing levels of the different stakeholders involved in carrying out projects. So, RAM is capable of identifying weaknesses in project management and provide the right course of action to avert future problems. Finally, RAM helps prioritize resources relative to their utilization during projects. Hence, it is easier to identify slacking projects that need more resources and attention to achieve its overall goal and objective (Travis, 2018, pp. 1). Consequently, competent ideals are developed to help actualize desirable project outcomes. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
