Summary of the chapters

Chapter 9: God’s Breath of Life

God protects his people and provides an environment where they can serve him well despite potential challenges that sought to limit the focus on moral aspects that improve individual wellbeing. God breathes life into his people through a focus on specific measures that help in promoting personal development and commitment to religious doctrines that emphasize on the path to righteousness (Wright, 2010, p. 121).  The resurrection of Jesus was puzzling even to his followers. It was something that they never thought would happen. However, Jesus maintains that individuals should always have faith. Faith is an essential aspect of religion that helps in attaining extraordinary success in religion (Wright, 2010, p. 125).

Jesus affirmed that faith without action is dead, and nobody can enter the kingdom of God without faith. Therefore faith and action present a critical platform that Christians can consider in attaining eternal life. God’s spirit is essential in defining individual development based on crucial aspects that can help in creating a highly integrated system that improves own decision making in seeking eternal life.

How we influence, our decision making is based on different concepts that can create a highly favorable environment to adapt to challenges within society. God is the giver, and everything that we can achieve is based on his mercy and his fatherly figure, which, to all humankind (Wright, 2010, p. 125-129).

Chapter 10: Living by the Spirit

Life as a Christian is enjoined into the holy spirit, which presents a more definite understanding of specific elements that help in improving the level of individual development. Living in spirit is comparable to walking. Walking with Jesus creates a free spirit within which it is possible to help in maintaining a proper system that focuses on individual values that improve the life in the spirit (Wright, 2010, p. 132).   God’s sacrifice of his son Jesus Christs shows his love and willingness to help his people to repent and focus on living the righteousness life. Jesus Christ is the way an following his teachings strictly gives any believer a chance to redeem themselves and live a normal life in Christ (Wright, 2010, p. 135).

God played a major role in the lives of early Christians, considering that they were able to witness the work of Jesus Christ as well as what he stood for and the beginning of Christianity.  Building positive life development presents a focus on the commitment to critical values and principles that shape Christianity. The followers of Jesus knew well the works of Jesus and sought to help in spreading the word because they knew the importance of the word and the need to live in spirit. Christian spirituality is influenced based on the commitment of followers of Jesus Christ with a focus on faith and a strong belief in God through his son Jesus Christ ((Wright, 2010, p. 138).

Chapter 11: Worship

God is an envious God who wants to be worshipped alone. The natural reaction to God is to worship and give thanks to him based on how far he has transformed our lives for the better. God created man to worship only him. The birds and animals know him as the maker and worship him in different languages (Wright, 2010, p. 143).   They know that their creator is all-powerful and controls the whole universe. John, who sees all this, provides an emphasis on the need to maintain a positive focus on the life of all creation, especially man who was made the most intelligent of all creations.  Worship entails acknowledging God and his status as the greatest.

The result of worship is mainly based on the attainment of our goals. When we worship God, we always seek to ensure that he addresses our issues based on how we ask. Therefore it is crucial to help in creating a favorable environment that focuses on building a substantial change process in improving the level of development. As Christians, we are promised eternal life if we keep on worshiping God and following his teachings (Wright, 2010, p. 148).

Chapter 12: Prayer

Prayer is a fundamental way that we communicate with God. Jesus Christ taught his followers the way to pray and communicate with God through the Lord’s prayer. How we create a strong platform for change presents a highly integrated system that can help in maintaining a stronger influence on the decisions that we made. God knows the strengths and weaknesses of his people, and thus the prayer forms the basis within which better decisions can be made and help in streamlining the relationship that exists between God and his followers (Wright, 2010, p. 160).

Everyone who has been raised in a religious background family understands the importance of the Lord’s prayer and how it helps connect individuals to the will of God as well as the path to righteousness.  The ability to make the right decision is influenced by different measures that help understand the importance of prayer and the underlying relationship among Christians (Wright, 2010, p. 164).   God advised his followers to pray every time, regardless of the situation. Prayer reflects on the will of God and provides the basis under which it is possible to understand the commitment of an individual to the right way of life. Christian prayer is simple, although it contains essential information that helps God understand the needs of his people.  A prayer includes thanksgiving, seeking protection,  and praying that God addresses our needs, which is vital in defining a stronger emphasis on the level of development in Christianity (Wright, 2010, p. 165-169).

Chapter 13: The Book God-Breathed

The teachings and ways of God are clearly illustrated in his book, which is the bible. Building a stronger emphasis on the wellbeing of an individual is based on how well we understand the bible. Biblical teachings define the level of development, which help in creating a stronger emphasis on individual development. Every solution to our problems in the world has been documented in the bible, although it is essential to understand different elements that help in defining a stronger focus on positive development. The decisions that we undertake are informed by key teachings in the bible (Wright, 2010, p. 173 – 178).

The Bible includes two sections, which are the Old and New Testament. The Old Testament provides an emphasis on the creation of the world and initial teachings that are developed in the ten commandments. The older testament had a wider perspective on the basic concepts that defined individual understanding of the teachings of God. The new testament contains refined teachings that provide an emphasis on better aspects that help improve our understanding of the requirements of the Kingdom of God. The bible is an inspired word of God that provides a greater emphasis on the teachings and critical tenets that define our decision making and ability to remain on the right path to eternal life ((Wright, 2010, p. 179-184).

Chapter 14: The Story and the Task

The bible has significantly been perceived as being authoritative, based on how it communicates. It is assumed that it is the voice of God who is interacting with his people and is showing them the best way to live and interact with each other in his own image. The bible, as developed, focused on specific aspects of life that were perceived to be difficult to understand.  Thus the bible presents a specific approach that helps in maintaining an improved level of change in individual behavior and ability to influence decisions. The bible contains a list of rules which define how Christians are supposed to live in order to be better placed in receiving eternal life, which is the ultimate price.  The ten commandments were the fundamental rules from God to man. They provided a strong basis for the behavioral wellbeing of Christians, which was integral in making decisions (Wright, 2010, p. 185- 192).

However, the authoritative nature of the bible is based on better elements that present a more structured focus on better elements that help in defining a unique change approach for a better and a well-developed system that improves individual development. Christians require guidance and focus, which present a clear consideration of better systems that can help in promoting positive behavior. Listening to God’s voice integrates different factors that offer a highly structured understanding of individual decision making. God speaks through the scripture, and it is vital to understand what God is saying before deciding on better approaches that can be effectively undertaken to improve the level of development (Wright, 2010, p. 195).

However, a critical challenge that exists is that there is no specific way of interpreting the scripture. Different individuals have different approaches that help in creating a more influential platform for change as well as the development of better measures that can help improve individual decision making. However, despite the existing differences in scripture interpretation, God guides his people on how to interpret different scriptures, which help in getting the meaning of individual elements that improve personal wellbeing (Wright, 2010, p. 198).

Chapter 15: Believing and Belonging

Christianity is developed based on two major concepts which include faith and belief. To understand our purpose, it is essential to focus on specific factors that influence individual commitment to Christianity and the underlying moral aspects that define personal involvement in Christianity. Everyone wants to have a sense of identity and to belong to a specific group (Wright, 2010, p. 201).  Christianity presents a more diverse emphasis on better systems that help in ensuring that individuals have a proper policy that personal aid wellbeing. Therefore a sense of belongingness in Christianity is based on how an individual is a commitment to the path of righteousness. The church presents a more physical symbol that shows commitment to the same goal, which is to remain committed to the right path and attain eternal life, which is the ultimate goal for all Christians (Wright, 2010, p. 210).

The church is described as a single river that is formed from thousands of tributaries that understand the importance of the river. The church is not just a building, but our bodies are the temple of Christ, which presents the need to keep them pure and develop a strong emphasis on essential aspects that help improve our commitment and the role of God in helping maintain a more influential change platform.  People who come together to pray mainly embrace common elements that help in maintaining a stronger focus on positive. The gospel provides a review of essential changes that present a more specific approach in defining change as well as crucial aspects that define positive change since it helps improve the level of emphasis on better approaches in Christianity (Wright, 2010, p. 213).

Chapter 16: New Creation, Starting Now

Earth and heaven were made similarly, although there have been significant deviations, especially in the world, mainly because the devil was released into the world and thus had been making major inroads in trying to influence individual decision and commitment to the righteous path. The beauty of creation is an issue that is well defined, which presents a stronger emphasis on better concepts that help in integrating better emphasis on important changes that help improve on the level of commitment. Improved change development defines a more reliable system that helps in presenting better measures that promote social engagement (Wright, 2010, p. 217).

God has provided more significant incentives for those who believe in him, which is an essential factor that helps in creating a stronger emphasis on positive level integration on improved concepts that define an enhanced level of change in pursuit of a greater commitment to change. Living between heaven and earth present a different platform that requires a more substantial commitment to change and emphasis on better approaches that build a strong system for change on individual behavioral development. Christian living entails dying and rising again. According to Christianity, death is not the end of everything, as shown by Jesus Christ, when he defeated the devil and rose from the dead. He created a way to be followed by all Christians without fear ((Wright, 2010, p.220 – 229).

How your own spirituality and theology interact with the content of the assigned chapters.

The emphasis on understanding the role of God in my life as well as different ways that I can communicate and interact with him present a better focus on my religious beliefs, which help in providing a unique level of development based on a unique level of engagement. Promoting change within a given context is based on my understanding of God and what God wants.  Know that I am his creation, and I have a responsibility to worship him and pray that he gives me wisdom and techniques to overcome any significant challenges in my personal as well as professional life.

The fundamental understanding of worship is mainly to praise God for all the good he has done in our lives. The God’s world is already developed based on the dimensions of heaven. However, there are many challenges which present limits to emphasis on the world in comparison to heaven. The devil is always roaming in the word hence God needs his people to remain loyal and worship him alone.
