Societal Implication of Racial Wealth Gap

Introduction

In many decades, the racial wealth gap has persisted among the Blacks and Whites, which tends to bring about discrimination. The racial wealth gap defined as a total difference in holding of wealth between households in grouped populations by either ethnicity or race. Societal implications are the results of the events in society. In this paper, the societal effect of the racial wealth gap, my thoughts, and support about the topic, impacts on people I would like to address, will be discussed below.

Societal Implication of Racial Wealth Gap

Social inequalities have been experienced in the last four decades in America, whereby the social groups were formed in jails, and the outcast group, both male and female, are denied access to social mobility which transmit from one generation to another. All this has affected the families and children. There is cumulative inequality because those with economic and social penalties are from a racial minority; therefore, they end up being miserable. (Western, 2010)

Poor health status is due to poverty that one cannot afford money to purchase medicine and cater to hospital bills. According to Nancy Krieger and colleagues, blacks have a higher death rate compared to whites, and this is due to low income by the dark. (Woolf, 2011)

Education is another critical factor that relates to health, whereby those with a high level of education are at low risk of death. Coauthors and Woolf estimated that giving all the adults in the US, some college education, and mortality rate would save seven lives, unlike the blacks.

Wilson and Sampson (1995) argued that causes of crime were the same for both Blacks and Whites, leading to racial invariance; therefore, it is evident that crimes are concentrated in African and American communities. (Sampson et al.,.2018)

Thoughts on Societal implications of Racial Wealth Gap

In my view, those with better income afford better health care. Still, according to studies, black women who have graduated suffer complications during childbirth, unlike white women who have never graduated; therefore, it shows the effects of the racial wealth gap.

Whites are likely to be respected at work, unlike Blacks who, despite working very hard, their efforts are not recognized at all. Also, due to social inequalities, Blacks end up being miserable and discriminated by the whites.

Therefore, with this enduring gap, it is evident that the Blacks are discriminated against by the whites, leading to adverse effects on them.

The topic has several impacts on families and children who need basic needs, students at school trying to gain knowledge hence live a good life and those in jail who are denied access to social mobility, among others.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the racial wealth gap clearly stated between the whites and the blacks. This enduring gap brings about negative impacts among the racial minority who are the Blacks; therefore, social equalities should be practiced to close the gap that has been persisting in many decades between the American and African communities.
