Software Project Management.
Scenario 1
If entrusted with the role of a project manager at the Waltham office, and working with a limited budget, the two attributes I would consider in hiring candidates would be: that they must be fluent in both English and the local language. This will enable a smooth process in management as there would be a secure flow of information between the Development manager, the software engineers and I. Secondly, I would prefer candidates that have lived in the local country. This is because such people are well versed in the environment. Hence there will be less resistance when it comes to implementing the project.
Scenario 2
As the Scrum Master of an underperforming team, it would be prudent to introduce bonuses. These bonuses would act as a motivation to the team. With this are bound to perform better. Another thing would be clearly defining roles set for each individual. By so doing, people become more responsible and thus perform better. Station reshuffles would also help a bunch in ensuring people take their duties seriously. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Scenario 3
As the scrum master, for a member who has missed Daily Stand-Ups due to other priorities, I would keep that person on track. Calling such an individual and giving him details of his work track records would help such a person rethink their actions. In the process, I would make him see the essence of taking his duties seriously. This would include reminding him of the consequences should anyone fail to perform assigned in the contract form.
Scenario 4
Being an asset to this company, this is my plan for the first 90 days in office.
I will check-in at the offices and get in touch with the two developers and the four members of the development team. Secondly, I’ll need to go through the office files, to note the progress and what is required of me. After that, I’ll set clear priorities for what I ought to do. My actions will be guided by SMART, which is S-Set specific goals, M-Measurable, A-Attainable, R-Realistic, and T-Time bound. This would help me mark my scorecard and track my performance within the first 90 days.
