According to feminism, a wife and husband should act in such a way that they preserve happiness in their marriage because a happy marriage is deemed to live forever. Their ideology is fully supported by this verse, whereby the husband is asking the wife to preserve their marriage.

Divorce is caused by lack of commitment between the husband, the wife. According to the verse, the man is asking the woman to protect their marriage and ensure that they live together forever. The man is asking the wife to assure him that she will not be the cause of the break up this marriage. Therefore, commitment to marriage is one of the steps that couples can take to avoid divorce.
