Speed limits
Introduction
Governments all over the world have designed, multiple laws to protect the welfare of the citizens. Among these laws is the speed limit law, which is designed to compel motorists to drive reasonably and make the right decisions in regard to the prevailing road conditions. Some scholars have found limit rather irrelevant as they have a strong belief on the current technologies in road construction and automotive. However, it will be naïve to dismiss the relevance of speed limit laws as they have the potential of saving life among other perks. In this paper, I will make an argument in support of the speed limits.
Globally, speeding has been quoted as one of the leading cause of accidents and speed limits is the best option which can mitigate this careless. Speeding is always correlated with careless and reckless driving. Putting speed limits acts as a parameter which can be used to evaluate between good and reckless. In this regard, it makes easier for the law keepers to determine to control automobiles in the streets. On the other hand, introducing the speed limits makes it easy for the drivers to use the roads as they provide them with a cognitive warning, which they use to determine when to speed and when to. Without the speed limits, it is possible to find an individual speeding down on a residential street. Speed limits largely help to introduce soberness on the roads. On the other hand, speeding is not cost-efficient and fuel-efficient.
Conclusion
Markedly, speed limits might appear irrelevant to people who want to move faster from one place to another. However, high speeds reduce the abilities of the drivers to make decisions especially on roads which have many variables. Therefore, speed limit serves to reduce accidents and keep the citizens safe.
