story on equity
The story on equity made me feel that, as a country, there is still a need for improvement on how we handle the rights of everyone, as provided by the constitution. AS a country, we are not yet there, and we need to work more by making sure that we enforce more laws on equity. No one should ever feel that his or her rights are violated. The constitution should protect each citizen from ensuring that equitability is the key, and we should act as an example to the rest of the world. I feel like our judiciary and law enacting bodies should work together and ensure anyone who goes against it should be heavily penalized.
The story reminds me of one of my own experiences where there was a job advertised in a security company. As an ordinary citizen who needed the job to earn a living for my family and me, I applied for the position since I knew and felt I have the qualifications to serve the country as a security officer. I asked for the job, and luckily I was among the shortlisted. On the day of the interview, I ensured I had all that they required. We were about fifty of us, both female and male. The positions to be filled were only ten. Everyone presented all he or she had. I felt it was my lucky day, but to my disappointment, I had all they required, but I never got a position reason being I was a black American.
From the story, I felt negatively affected. Most people in the United States are denied of their rights as it is the constitution. People are denied chances to even express themselves by coming up with new ideas that, to them, maybe of impact on the country. The government fears that people who are of more intellectual can come up with ideas that can disclose their weak plans to the citizens a way that it is not supposed to be, like in a case of Harrison in the story.
