Strategic Planning in Heath Care
The successful delivery of medical services in the future will depend on the application of health information technology. For instance, the future of health services will rely on technologies such as the electronic medical records (Harrison, 2016). Health information technology plays a critical role in strategic planning since it has the ability to increase the efficiency of carrying out tasks. In strategic planning, health facilities are involved in providing the direction that they are going to take and the decisions that they are likely to consider. As such, health information technology will play the role of facilitating the strategic planning process.
Digital health will play a critical role in contributing to the healthcare of the future. In the execution of their duties, CEOs in healthcare organizations are required to show the ability to communicate, manage change, measure performance, as well as influence staff (Harrison, 2016). In the future, digital health will play the role of ensuring that different healthcare expectations in the future are realized. Therefore, in the future, digital health will play a significant role in the future in the provision of medical services.
There are different heath systems, including national health insurance, Beveridge, and Bismarck models. In the national health insurance system, medical care is facilitated through higher taxation, but patients have a free option of selecting any doctor or facility they desire. In the system, there is no profit incentive, which helps in checking prices and making them remain low. This helps in the realization of enhanced health outcomes. In the Beveridge model, most of the doctors and hospitals work for the government, but private physicians still exist. In this health arrangement, care is usually paid by government by the use of taxes (Harveston, 2018). On the other hand, in the Bismarck model, health care is offered through insurance entities paid by employee and employer. The best system is the Bismarck model since everyone is covered and costs are affordable.
