Information Systems and Information Technology
SUMMARY OF RESEARCH PROGRESS:
With the knowledge and skills I have attained up to this point, I have confidence that I can conduct successful research. My topic of study being Information Systems and Information Technology (IS & IT), I will plan to reduce the costs of the research project and keep my budget as low as possible. Besides, I will apply research techniques that are cost-effective and less time-consuming. Under this, for the review process, I have estimated a timeline of not exceeding two weeks. The time set will be adequate to collect statistics from numerous sources, whereby I will use two to three days to investigate the data so far collected. The results obtained from the data collected will help me in understanding Information Systems and Information Technology in a better way. The purpose of the study being earlier outlined during phase one of the research topic will prompt me to focus on understanding the various measures and methods used by numerous organizations in accessing Information Systems and Information Technology. To evade obstructions from companies having a fear of sharing personal information, I will go with agreements copies that a third party will not access the information I will collect but only to be used in this study. The move will smoothen my work and reduce the time for convincing firms that their information will not be shared. In addition, I will use the knowledge gained from the review to prevent my data from being accessed by unauthorized persons actively. The knowledge will also be applicable in my future endeavors as an Information and Technology expert.

Notes for the Source
- Mithas & Rust (2016) note that strategies taken towards enhancing better IT together with the investment will have an impact on the firm’s performance.
- Besides, the article is relevant because it gives information on how strategies employed in information technology and investments influence the performances of the running organizations.
- We are told that firms are getting the most profit from the IT strategies such as cost reduction and expanding the level of revenues (Mithas & Rust, 2016).
- The above can be ascertained by this quote, “Dual-emphasis firms also have a stronger IT- profitability relationship than either revenue- or cost-emphasis firms” (Mithas & Rust, 2016, p. 223-245).

Notes for the Source
- The article is relevant because it shows how global information technology has been used and the impacts associated with it.
- It also relevant because it gives some of the aspects to be considered on information technology globally by considering the evolving measurement (Baller et al., 2016).
- The measurement must be proportional to developments it has made to the industries especially in active firms (Baller et al., 2016)

Notes for the Source
- According to Aasheim and Williams (2019), there must be specific knowledge and skills which one must-have for him or her to qualify for an entry-level linked to information technology workers.
- The article is relevant for the current study because it contains the most current information bearing in mind that its publication was done only last year.
- The article is also reliable because it compares two fields; industries and academia in which Information Systems and technology are greatly employed (Aasheim & Williams, 2019, p. 10). It is very vital to make my research project a success.

Notes for the Source
- The article is useful for the research project because it gives an overview of how IS and IT have been used in digital platforms. It also notes that effective monitoring of social media is the key to increased organizational performance.
- The article is reliable because it has explored digital platforms where IS and IT are commonly used (De Reuver et al., 2018).
- From the article, it is quoted that “… digital platforms are transforming almost every industry today” (De Reuver et al., 2018, p. 124-135), meaning that their platforms are essential in carrying out businesses.

Notes for the Source
- Pearlson, Saunders, and Galletta give ways in which Information Systems should be managed. It is a strategic approach that makes IS look simple and more profitable in one’s firm if well employed (Pearlson et al., 2019).
- Generally, the editorial is relevant to the research project because it will guide on how IT and IS should be used in various areas.
- It is quoted that, “A Strategic Approach provides a solidknowledge base of basic concepts to help readers become informed, competent participants in Information Systems (IS) decisions” (Pearlson et al., 2019)
