Team Responsibilities of BSSTI, RTI, and SACS
Building Based Student Support Team (BBSST)
BSST is a collaborative team that exists in K-12 classrooms. The team is developed to meet the needs of students who are at risk of dropping out or failing due to behavior issues. Team members discuss problems related to the particular needs of students and teachers and assist in resolving the issues. The team is comprised of education teachers, counselors, and administrators. Through collaboration, the team members are given a chance to address the concerns affecting students and find solutions with a higher perspective. The team utilizes a database analysis to find effective strategies that relate to individual student needs.
Response to Intervention (RTI)
RTI may seem complicated, but it is based on a simple idea as it aims at looking at children’s skills early in their academic years. The intervention comes to play when they spot a weakness in struggling children and respond to them before they become a failure. A major part of the Response to Intervention process involves monitoring the progress of students closely. That way, the concerned team in the school may see which children require more academic support.
Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS)
SACS department specifies a comprehensive and uniform list of accounts that should be used by all districts statewide for financial data reporting and collection. SACS aims to enhance the ability of educators, policymakers, and also the public to examine where the money for all districts come from and how they are used. Also, SACS aims at improving the accuracy, scope, and comparability of one data to another. In addition to the tough set of accounts, codes districts must include, SACS has optional ones that districts may use to develop more detailed reports.
