Technology-Based Company
Abstract
The paper discusses the application of concepts covered in the class by outlining ways in which I would run a business-oriented company use of technology in most activities. It involves the use of technology in production, marketing as well as storage of data.
Introduction
Education is vital in the redemption of people from the so-called “foolishness” and solving daily problems that disturb human beings. From education, the world can experience the benefits of various professionals. For instance, the doctors in the hospital, information technology experts, teachers, lawyers, engineers, and so forth. Imagine a world where everybody is learned. Would it be the worst thing ever or the most admirable? Through the learned concepts, I would have several impacts on an organization as a manager.
Data Security
To ensure data security and easy retrieval, I would adopt a good database. A database serves to store data, thus eliminating need for a repetitive recording of data. Some of the merits of a database include saving on costs incurred in the input of information. Once a person stores data, the individual is not needed to record the data once more in case of need arises. Assuming that the company involves keeping a record of the members’ names as well as contacts, the workers are not necessitated to recording the members their names as far as the information was stored in a database. The use of databases has been adopted by many firms, including Facebook, as well as Google. This would work best in the implementation of e-business. Other than that, I would ensure back up of data in storage devices such as hard disk, flash drives, among others.. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Production and Decision Making
From a technology perspective, I would ensure that the company employs’ high level of technology. It entails the application of business intelligence in the company. Some of the benefits of business intelligence include aiding in making decisions within the company (Bargshady et at, 2014). Through reports from business intelligence, the management can understand various activities of the company. For instance, the reports from the production area can inform the management of production activities. As a result, the administration can make a proper decision to efficiency in production. Besides, I would ensure efficiency in production through automating repetitive processes. For instance, in the case of bread packaging, I would employ a packaging machine rather than human labor. As a result, there is less time consuming, reduced expenditure in paying workers, high quality outputs, fast production hence increased production. Additionally, I would implement wireless technology within the company. As a result, the company would be flexible to the extent of working from home. It would also increase performance within the firm. Since invention in technology leads to faster gadgets, the performance of activities would also increase, thus increasing production.
Marketing Strategies
In such a technological world, the use of the internet has become inevitable. I would not be exceptional, and for that reason, I would implement e-business technology. It involves the use of a website rather than block and mortar shops to display and sell products. By doing so, the company shall have avoided competition from traditional shops, leap the benefits of operating at all times as well as display of products to potential customers. On the other hand, the customers can access services at all times, and there is reduced movements as well as the high reliability of the online shops. This also serves as a way of retaining and attracting new customers. However, e-business has raised security concerns among individuals as well as the firm. To ensure the safety of the company. I would ensure the development of the website by competent experts, enhancement of security by providing username and password. As a result, no unauthorized access to customer’s data. As a way of keeping the customers away from fraudsters, I would update them on threats such as phishing, among others.
Another way of marketing my business would be through social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, among others. Social media platforms offer an opportunity for both the customers and the firm to interact. As a result, customers can present their complaints, and the firm can understand the needs of the customers. Though I would be delighted to have such an active account, it will take the company’s creativity and being consistent in updating the customers. The Starbucks company should be an example (Saby, 2016). The company has created a strong social media platform by enticing its customers by posting attention to making posts. Additionally, ensure an eye-catching, consistent logo. Just like a company like Coca-Cola, whose popularity has been due to its red logo, I would also like to maintain a logo that customers can recognize from everywhere (Saby, 2016).
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would implement a business-oriented company but fully controlled by technology. It involves the use of databases in ensuring the security of data, back up devices such as hard disks, using social media platforms in marketing and increasing production through implementing business intelligence and wireless technology. To ensure the safety of the customers in e-business, I would ensure authentication measures such as the use of passwords and name as well as firearms. Also, I would offer to advise customers on how to interact on the internet safely.
