Term project description
Paradise Consulting Engineers is a project-based organization that designs residential and commercial buildings all over Canada with about 500 people on staff. This huge company has its headquarter in Toronto, where the administrative, financial and strategic planning for the entire business takes place. The senior management has defined a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) project to be implemented for better staff performance management. Having researched the existing systems available, the company has decided to develop a customized system for the best benefits of the business.
The system has to include different components including the following at a minimum, but you are supposed to suggest other components based on your knowledge and experience:

- Professional background-experience and education
- Competency info
- Career progression path
- Performance management[unique_solution]

The features required in the HRIS include the following five explained in the link below. Please read this and document it as the requirements of project scope. You can always add value to the requirements as HR experts.

The project takes place over a six months period and has a rough estimated budget of $250 K. You need to subcontract this to a systems developer ASAP to start the job. Of course, you have to implement all the skills you learn in this PM course to manage the job as well as possible. In order to maintain the objectives. Your team has been chosen as HR experts to manage this project. The quality system should be maintained well through checklists you need to define and get approved by HR manager. The HR manager and CEO are among the most influential stakeholders.
In this term project you need to submit four assignments. The following are the deadlines based on the progress of the course outline and content:

Requirements
- The exercise must be done in teams and not individually.
- Everybody needs to make contributions and the efforts must be well balanced.
- I will not accept works that are mainly done by one or two team members. This kind of work will score low.
- True teamwork and NOT group work needs to be exercised. In teamwork everybody is responsible for everything. Try to exercise Belbin Team Roles to figure out what role you will be best performing, a shaper, plant, resource investigator, Team worker…….
- I advise you to take good care while deciding about your team members. You need to be able to perform well in the teams. Having worked with some of your classmates before does not necessarily mean you will be performing well in this exercise.
- You need to decide on a team representative, who will communicate with me on your behalf.
- I do advise you to define communication platform among you.
- You certainly need to define a Team work Protocol that governs your relationship within the team. I advise that you define the rules for your team work such as delays in submissions, quality assurance in your deliverables, meetings locations, frequency……
- Define very clearly how you want to work together.
- All your submissions must be in both hard copy and electronically uploaded under the right folder in DC Connect, Assignment tab.
- Deadlines are important and will have impacts on your scores, so to do best, you need to submit before the deadline.
