The colonization of American

Colonization has been a common aspect of the history of most countries. The fight for independence is associated with the systems that have been developed in the countries that had been colonized. America did not escape the colonization of European powers that had decided to exert control over world powers that had unexploited resources. The American Revolution is defined as a period when the North American colonies decided to overthrow the power that Great Britain had put over them. The main reason behind the American Revolution was the attempt by Great Britain to have more control over the colonies, which only triggered the colonies to fight back. However, other factors contributed to the revolution. The causes behind the American Revolution are associated with the creation of the American colonies by the British, who were escaping religious persecution.

The colonization of American had been free from intervention from the British Government until the colonies started fearing for their freedom. Initially, the colonies were formed by residents who were escaping religious persecution in England. The activities of the British Government in the territories were limited, and the colonies were not concerned about their freedoms. However, the British Government increased its involvement in the colonies, raising the concern of the colonies on their privileges that were being taken away by the British Government. Moreover, the French and Indian War had disastrous impacts on the need to fight for revolution.

A war ensued in 1754 between the colonies and France, calling for the intervention of the British Government to assist the colonies. The British Government aided the armies that were allied to the American natives. After the war ended, the troops needed to be paid, but the British Government was not willing to use its revenues to pay the soldiers. The British Government decided to introduce taxes and levies in the colonies to obtain the revenues required to pay the troops. Furthermore, the taxes were not taken in good faith by the colonies that were not represented in the British parliament. The colonies, therefore, decided to stage counter-revolutions to have the Government remove the taxes. Moreover, the acts that were introduced by the British Government led to demonstrations that broke out in Boston to resist the intolerable acts imposed by the Government.

The British Government had introduced intolerable policies that triggered residents to stage demonstrations in resistance to the policies. Active demonstrations started in Boston and later spread to the colonies. The demonstrations were severe, and the Government used force against the protestors, further making them bitterer. For example, the Boston Massacre led more colonies into joining the protests. Also, the Government blocked the Boston harbor as a punishment to the colonists who were pushing for the demonstrations. However, the blockage affected both the loyalists and patriots and anger spread across the other colonies. Besides, the punishment on Boston was seen as a possibility on the other colonies, and the colonies decided to join the demonstrations to advocate for the freedom that was slowly being taken away by the Government. Moreover, the unity among the colonies grew significantly over the demonstrations due to the punitive laws set by Britain.

The imposition of punitive laws by Britain on the colonies did not have the impact that was expected by the Government. Initially, the Government had hoped to control the colonies by punishing, but the colonies decided to support each other to fight for each other. One of the uniting factors was the Boston blockage that saw other colonies offering support in solidarity with the colony that was suffering from lack of harborage services. The D Sons of Liberty, who were behind the demonstrations, received support from the colonies, and an active revolutionary war was in the offing. Moreover, the continental congress is seen as the last activity before an active war began.

A continental congress was held were colonies were allowed to send representatives to get a response concerning the punitive laws. The colonies expected to receive a response from King George, although the response was not obtained. The lack of a response fueled more resistance, and the colonies decided to boycott British products. After the British Government noticed the preparation that the colonies had concerning a potential war, British soldiers were ordered to disarm the rebels. The order, however, triggered the rebels to stage a war against the soldiers. The war that started after the disarming attempt grew to become the great revolutionary war that would obtain independence for the colonies and, eventually, the United States of America.

In sum, the causes behind the American Revolution are associated with the creation of the American colonies by the British, who were escaping religious persecution. The attempts of the British Government to exert more power over the colonies made them consider their freedoms that were on the verge of being taken away by the Government. Generally, the revolutionary war began after the Government decided to disarm the rebel, and the colonies eventually obtained their independence.
