The Effect of Music in Society

Music has the power to communicate loads to society. Many communities have used music as a tool to pass on morals and ethics to the young generation. The modern generation has mostly identified with the legend of Reggae music, Robert Marley, whose music has the same appeal as to that one of Mozart. This paper focuses on the two artists and highlights their impacts on society

In his time, Mozart’s music was thought to be over-spiced and complicated for an average listener. (Taruskin, 2020).  The recent explosion of exploration of his music has come in hand with several opinions. Some hold that understands his music requires for us to re-create some dangerous aspects associated with his music. However, within every critique, his music was very instrumental in society. It has been branded one of the most classical compositions with a relatable symbolism. (Pietschnig, Voracek, & Formann, 2010). The messages from his music were very appealing at his time, even though it was hardly understood. In a sense, his music created a thrust that has beneficial aspects to the community.

One of the most celebrated music of our generation is the late Robert Marley. Although departed, his legacy and music still lives on. His music was comprised of a strong urge for the unification of all people. He championed for the end of racial discrimination and harmonious existence in society. (Saperstein & Cheng, 2014). His music had a pleasant voice of solace. He left an impact as one of the many icons that young and fresh individuals of society want to be associated with.

Overly, I think Mozart music has some commonality with Robert Marley’s music. Both were very iconic to society. They introduced fresh and new music taste to society. Both had some sense of divinity, which made their music so appealing. Robert Marley’s music will continue to be studied for many generations to come, just like Mozart’s music. The main reason for the continued study of Robert Marley music is the appeal it brings to society.
