The Glen is Mine
Music is a powerful weapon as it can evoke our emotions in many different ways. The sound signals to our brain and the feelings we perceive could range from happy, calm and relaxed to nostalgic, tense and sad. Some music makes us want to move our body parts and dance while other people use music as a way of boosting their concentration while performing demanding duties. It is also known to affect the decisions we make because, for instance, an individual would be more willing to purchase from a shop that plays the music they enjoy. “The Glen is Mine” is a beautiful tune that brings out several emotions.
The music is classical and an easy one to enjoy and love. The title itself is captivating, and it made me curious about what the content of the music was. The rhythm and the tone of the tune gave me a relaxation feeling. It stimulated some slow heartbeat which gave me a soothing effect. Talking of themes, the most suitable one that I would attach to the tune is a fanfare or an idea of victory. The song made me think of a situation where there is victory after the war. The participants or the soldiers would enjoy listening to this relaxing music after so much hard work. There is a substantial variation in how the tone keeps rising and falling. Our brains can be triggered to perceive specific colours when we listen to some tunes. I experienced the red colour with shades of white, where after a war, a country emerges a victor and with a lot of freedom. The piper composed and played an excellent tune.
