The movie ‘Flight by Denzel Washington’ is one of the live-action films that have been produced to raise awareness on society on issues of drug abuse and addiction. Characters and groups of individuals are people within social class that is highly respected. The use of high flying characters is a good strategy that the producer uses to portray misconception on drug abuse—most of the societies, especially Americans associate drug abuse to members of gangs and celebrities. The narrative gets twisted on how the author of the movie as a masterpiece manages to show how modern lifestyle can and promote drug abuse.
The first approach that could have been put in place in the institutional management strategy. International Civil Aviation Organization in 1995 published a manual that gives guidelines on policy of managing drug and substance abuse and use in the industry. The manual makes it a responsibility to manage of aviation industry to ensure they have a strategy to contain problematic substance use.
