The origins in the development of Google are traed to Backrub, a research project that Brin and Larry were initially working on as Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Backrub brought forth Google, a search website developed in the year 1996, registered under The Google Company. The site was initially used within the campus, and it originally used Stanford’s website. The search engine was created in a way that analyzes and categorizes pages to display according to the user’s needs. This is what made Google to be the cutting edge despite stiff competition from other entities during the dot com bubble of the 1990s.
