THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN POLITICS AND HEALTHCARE
Response 1
Politics and healthcare indeed go hand in hand; that is why many of our politicians will invest their speech and manifesto on healthcare (Kinderman, 2019). Every voter always wants to if he or she votes for a particular leader; he will have an impact on the health sector. It is costly to get healthcare services, and if a person is guaranteed that the system will be efficient and cater to his or her needs, then that is the leader to elected. When people have discussions on specific issues that affect them in the health sector, politicians are always involved. It still acts as a sign that they care about the health of their people. In doing so, they make it easier for specific fundamental laws to be passed that are beneficial to the citizens who are unable to afford quality health services at a lower rate. I agree that politics go alongside with health insurance. Many people rely on insurance to cater to their medical expenses. Therefore whenever the topic comes up, many politicians will tend to capitalize on the discussions. Gaining masses to vote is not easy, hence trying to act as if you can relate to the health insurance problems people go through can give a politician a milestone. As many people consider, excessive government regulations are the cause of the problems in the healthcare system. It is untrue to say that healthcare policy and politics have both been influenced by the American dollar, which buys political power. As much as we have individuals who use force to continue making profits from making the poor through the healthcare system. We have politicians who are aimed at making the healthcare system affordable to every person that resides in the country. We indeed have small countries that have better healthcare systems than America. It is a fact, and that is why the United States is no ranked among the top countries that have the best healthcare systems. Presidential candidates will always focus their argument on the healthcare sector since that is the biggest issue that is ailing most of the Americans. If the voters can be convinced by a presidential candidate to make the healthcare system better than it is, he has the highest probability of winning the seat. The reason why most of the Americans always vote against the idea of healthcare for all. It is because we have some people who see the move as not being beneficial to them. It is so ironic that the united states healthcare system pays more money per capita than any other nation; however, it is not ranked among the countries that have the best healthcare services. For the country to have a higher life expectancy, there is a need for the government to make sure that every American has a good health insurance cover (Dwyer-Lindgren et al. 2017). Any project needs funds for it to be successful and serve its purpose. That is the reason why, as much as the healthcare system has the goal of quality, cost, and access, it cannot be easily achieved. The topic of healthcare in the united states indeed is one of the countries’ polarizing issues. Most of the people who pass health legislation always want to benefit from it. They lack the interest of the people they present at heart. To make the healthcare system better than it is, there is a need to select the right leaders who, as much as they love politics, have the people at heart. Having a secure healthcare system will help in increasing the life expectancy of the Americans. Therefore, the government should make sure that the correct implementation is done towards making the healthcare system dependable by all the people.
