The Significant Impact of Heidi Zak on the Fashion Sector

Many success stories are created as people try to provide solutions to human needs. They come up with ideas, which eventually become popular through transforming lives. This was not different for Heidi Zak when she started Thirdlove together with her husband, David Spector. Throughout her life, Heidi had never worn a fitting bra. Whenever she went to a store to purchase one, she never got one that perfectly fitted her. She often had to compromise her comfort by purchasing either an oversized or undersized underwear.

However, that experience got the better part of her one day in 2012, and she decided she could not bear with it anymore. As she was preparing for a holiday event, Heidi Zak discovered that her bra for the event was way too small. She had to either rush to the store and buy another bra, or stick with the undersized one and endure the discomfort. During the event, she experienced a small hell on earth. This challenged her to figure out how women were suffering from the same experience due to the lack of alternatives. They got standard-sized bras, which never allowed them to get comfortable.

Consequently, Heidi saw a business opportunity in that market gap. She decided to start manufacturing bras of various sizes so that at least every woman could find one of their sizes. To actualize the idea, she co-founded Thirdlove with David, and both became co-CEOs of the organization. The primary objective of the organization was to ensure that all women were comfortable in their outfits, especially underwear. During the inception of the company, Heidi Zak faced tremendous criticism from the larger competitors in the fashion industry. However, her resilience and patience fought for her, and eventually, the business succeeded. Today, the company has become one of the leading distributors of bras and lingerie in the US. It also records revenues of more than $100 million annually.
