The world of finance

The world of finance has always fascinated me and the news of Laxmi Niwas Mittal’s takeover of Arcelor, and the Tata’s buyout of Jaguar and Land Rover from the Ford group brought to the fore, the coming of age of the Indian economy and the Indian corporation. Hailing from a business family, the state of the economy and the business environment were always topics of conversation in my mind.

This cemented the idea in my mind of doing MSc in Business Management from your university (WARWICK) as my goal was always set to join your university and make my dreams come true by expanding my own business from the level where I am today since the day i left my university in INDIA i started indulging in my own business soo to know all the points where we are lacking to compete the higher brands in the market and this is the main reason i want to join your university so that I can work more on my weaknesses and strengths .

Malcolm Forbes said, “Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.” And it is with this mindset that I have pursued my education since I entered high school. Education, to me is something that will enable me to reap dividends in the future, not financial dividends necessarily but dividends that will aid in allowing India to take its place among the ranks of the developed

nations of the world. I believe that education opens our minds to the endless possibilities that exist in today’s global economy. Seeing L. N. Mittal and Ratan Tata, ringing the bell to announce the start of business at the New York Stock

The exchange had awakened in me the dream to one day be able to stand in a similar position, and it was with this aim that I joined Amity University in order to pursue my Bachelor’s of Business Administration in International Business. I am presently doing my own business till September 2020 to gain more knowledge about the business and to have points cleared up in my mind on what I have to work on and look forward to begin my MSc degree with WARWICK in September 2020 itself.

Throughout my academic career, I have performed well and have been in the top 10% of my class in one of Delhi’s premier institutions, the G.D.GOENKA Public School. Desire and dreams have always been the foundations of my achievements in life. Academic skills and intellect are tools used to execute what you believe in. From the very beginning, I have applied the various possible combinations to find the solution using cumulative knowledge gathered

through the various classes I have attended. Though I passed my secondary and higher secondary education with an average score of over 71%, I feel that education itself is not enough. One must also learn perseverance and the ability to adapt the theoretical knowledge into practical means.

The world today is often referred to as a ‘global village’ and in the future it will not only get more interlinked, but economies will get more interdependent. Being a citizen of this world and no longer only a citizen of India it is imperative for me to learn how to function in this ever-changing global scenario. I believe that pursuing an MSc degree from the WARWICK will equip me in facing these turbulent times. WARWICK being one of the financial capitals of the globe, has been instrumental in influencing British educational institutions to develop highly skilled programmes to equip future business leaders. I believe that a sound knowledge of finance is essential to be able to lead an organisation to the next level, and a degree from the WARWICK will equip and enable me to play this role and lead the family concern to greater heights.

Sport has also played an important role in my life. I enjoy playing cricket and Besides the enjoyment of the game, it has taught me the importance of perseverance and the necessity of continuously challenging oneself, if one wants to be truly successful. I also represented my house in table tennis and through

this learnt the importance of maintaining focus on specific areas.

I sincerely believe that India will soon be an economic giant, there still exists abject poverty in the country, and this is most visible in the form of little children begging on the streets. Literacy is the sole means by which these children will be able to rise above the poverty that has bogged them down.

Sound education and specialisation are necessary to succeed and I believe that an MSc degree from WARWICK will equip me in not only achieving my goal but also to work towards India, where one day, little children will be found in classrooms and not begging on the streets.

I hope to see my dreams coming true with WARWICK UNIVERSITY from 2020.
