Leadership is excellent, but being a leader is a sacrifice. Considering the leaders who we have studied, it took them selflessness to fight for the citizens. Fighting existing adverse trends of leadership may lead to rejection, but it’s incredible how great leaders touch the hearts of the public and get mobilization. Some leaders faced government opposition to the level of imprisonment but still stood firm on their decisions on fighting for whatever is suitable for the people. I have learned that good leaders always hold on a little bit longer, no matter what the hard the challenges may become. The anatomy of leading minds consists of leaders who suffered for the sake of the public. A good leader stays focused on achieving the set goals. A leader cannot help people without a struggle. It was interesting to learn about free traits throughout the week. The way people can hide their habits all along will stay in my mind for a long time. I learned not to guess people’s personalities by judging their external characters because characters can get fueled by what someone does or sees. However, in my opinion, it’s reasonable to switch traits depending on situations, because changing habits is how some people perform their duties correctly. An introvert may hide their personality by always appearing happy and talkative; the external traits can completely conceal the internal characteristics of a person. Introverts whose professions require confidence and other characters of an extrovert like a lecture may find himself or herself getting high to address an audience with anxiety. I love Gardner’s discussion on leadership constants, although I think embodiment has much more impact on the success of a leader. Embodiment changes the way people think and the perspective of handling situations, thus enhancing one’s confidence. I admire confident leaders because they don’t fear rejection or getting condemned as long as they are on the right track.
Therefore, leaders with an embodiment are more likely to achieve goals and fight for the sake of the citizens. They are also confident enough to overcome challenges by striving to keep holding on. The leaders we have discussed so far succeeded in achieving their goals because of confidence. Lack of this vital character can make a leader decide to give up when situations get hard. The likes of Jean Monnet, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther, Margret, among other successful leaders, had more confidence than any other constant. Leadership lessons have to assist in knowing how to choose real leaders.
