Introduction
The wood from Timber has been used for many years by the people for the purpose of construction and interior designing purpose. The major use of Timber includes frames, floorings, and facades. Timber is considered as strong wood which is used for the purpose of making architectural developments. The high quality of Timber is not only popular in Bahrain but is also used in households extensively because people believe that the use of Timber is having a positive impact over the long run furnishing items.
Types of wood
The classification of Timber is based on its botanical classification, and the people of Bahrain also ignore its physical strengths and focuses on its outlay. Timber is used for the purpose of making furnishing across Bahrain, but in the region, there are two different types of woods such as hardwood and softwood, which are explained below:
Hardwood – hardwoods of Timber is generated from broad-leafed trees, and the major features of these trees are that they lose their leaves in autumn.
Softwood – it is witnessed that the use of softwood is also common in Bahrain, and it is considered as a wood which is less dense and also seems favorable with respect to interior designing.
While talking about hard and softwood, it is highly important to learn about their examples. Balsa is an example of hardwood used in Bahrain, whereas Pine and yew are considered as softwood used for furnishings in Bahrain. Softwood is used for the purpose of making building, construction, and farming purpose.
Initial design Timber
In Bahrain, the use of Timber is common, and there are various stages through which the Timber goes through to reach its actual state in which it can be used for the purpose of making designs, furniture, and interiors. Manufacturing of solid wood is essential as it is used in Bahrain. For this purpose the wood is initially cut into three distinct manners such as Plainsawn, riftsawn and quartersaw. This is the process in which the wood is cut into. Once an individual conceptualizes that what are the exact design for which the Timber is used, then after initial cutting, the Timber is transported for finishing. The wood is cut and then made plain by scrubbing. This process is essential as it will prepare the wood for ready to use. Once the wood is made plain, then it is converted into the required design. This is the implementation stage where wood is converted as per the idea. Once it is done, then at the final stage, the color which is used for wood is decided. This is the final stage where, after coloring wood as per the desire of the customer, the final product is made. In this stage, the input is taken for the customer as to whether they need to color the wood or prefer deco. When they have told the business about their specification than the product is completed
Analysis and justification of your timber design
For the purpose of making home furnishing, my Timber design is based on PlywoodPlywood. I prefer to use decorative PlywoodPlywood as it is going to help me in making cabinetry, and it is going to b durable as well. The advantages and disadvantages of using decorative PlywoodPlywood are as follows:
Advantages
- The sheets are glued with each other at an angle, and this makes them more durable and increases their strength as well.
- The chances of splitting wood while using PlywoodPlywood is reduced to an acceptable level
- Plywood is more resistant and it avoid cracking and twisting
- The strength is also consistent throughout the PlywoodPlywood
Disadvantages
- Due to layering, the wood at times become porous
- There are high chances that the wood might get damaged because of water
- Plywood becomes heavy when they are wet
- They also absorb a high amount of moisture
Conclusion
From all the above discussion, it is concluded that there are different types of Timber that are available in Bahrain. It is important that at the time of making the choice of wood an individual must ensure that whether they need hardwood or softwood, in this regard, it is also essential to understand that there are various types of softwoods and decision must be taken by evaluating their benefits and drawbacks
