Motivating their employees is also an essential component in ensuring they deliver the best services and, in turn, market their brand effectively.

There are various motivational theories that employers in funeral service can use. Examples of such approaches are Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor, and Ouchii. Herzberg entails asking the employees when they felt good and when they felt horrible about their job. Ouchi motivational theory is based on employees who are committed and involved in the organization. Such employees are motivated through rewards such as long term employment and promotions, among other prizes. Therefore, through the motivational theories, it is easy to obtain information and motivate the employees.

Some of the factors influencing an employee motivation in a funeral service business are recognition of achievement, non-financial rewards such as the creation of a positive environment, relationship with the employer, learning, and developing opportunities, among others. The need to move from one step to another with a reasonable satisfaction of achievement can be an excellent personal program for self-motivation. Working well as part of a team, meeting deadlines, and targets are what motivates me to perform better.
