Veterans Administration
Veterans require special treatment due to the sacrifice made for their countries. The treatment of veterans varies from state to state, with some countries openly supporting veterans through government programs while other countries decide to ignore the veterans. Also, veterans are subject to several illnesses and health complications directly related to their time in service. For example, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is common among veterans due to the exposure to traumatic experiences during the service tenure. The government should adapt to better ways of assimilating veterans into the community by creating an efficient health care system to protect them from exploitation by private companies who may take advantage of the desperation of the veterans.
The government should ensure that the health care system is provided with adequate personnel. Clinical engagement increases accessibility to reliable health care while reducing the cost of assessment (Leung et al., 2018). Veterans require special attention to help them overcome the traumatic experiences they might have gone through during the time in service. The susceptibility of veterans to PTSD needs organized attention to minimize the severe consequences that come with a lack of management. PTSD may cause a negative on an individual’s relationship with the people around them (Parekh, 2017). The state should ensure that enough savings are made during the service time of the veterans. Saving in health benefit schemes can be provided directly by the government or encouragement by giving incentives to be given to the veterans during their service in work. The privatization of the Veterans Administration could be unnecessary for the improvement of provision of veteran services. Private organizations will require stiff regulation to prevent cases of exploitation towards veterans in terms of benefit contribution. The government should, therefore, improve the state of the health facilities and increasing the number of clinical personnel.
Provision of health care and assimilation of veterans back to the society is a matter of critical concern to any government. The government should aim to provide necessary health care to veterans as a way of repaying for the sacrifice and service given by the veterans to the nation. The main idea of the government should be based on the protection of veterans from exploitation by private organizations that may take advantage of the veteran’s desperation.
