Time period and the events: The events presented in the video are accurate according to Academic sources. A study that was carried out by Burhop et al.,2016 has confirmed that amidst 1914 to 1918, the first war, which led to the death of thousands. German and French men die significantly, use of poison gas. The defeat of Germany, the rise of the Nazis, took place in 1919, a country betrayed. Inflation of 1929 hit the country, and unemployment rose to 22%. In 1932, people were killed, demonstrations were held in 1923, and Adolf Hitler was imprisoned. Nazi party gained support after his release. In 1933 Hitler was invited to collaborate by the president. They wanted control. Heidelberg died in 1934. Hitler abolished the offices, such that everyone served under him. Restoration of the country took place, and the Nazi regime was based on race; people from other races were not valued. German Jews got segregated. In 1938, Jewish owned shops and synagogues were destroyed. In 1939 German attacks Poland is marking the beginning of the Second World War. France surrendered, and in 1941 there was the invasion of the Soviet Union. In 1942, isolation of the Jews banished them from the ghettos. Historical accuracy of the video: According to a study done by Satyanath et al., 2017, the rise of the Nazis led to the economic stability of Germany. Industries were built, more people went to work, and people were generally doing well. However, the war that started against Jews steered the prolonging of the Second World War. The operation Reinhard of 1942-1943 led to the murder of many Jews who had moved to Poland. The genocide wiped out the people, and by the end of the war, many had died, and the living were homeless. It is a genocide instigated by Hitler, and people murdered others in cold blood.
Video’s efficacy as a means of historical instruction: The video is accurate because it is a visual representation of the events which occurred in Germany. It is not biased because it outlines the impact of the Nazi regime and how it contributed to the improvement of Germany after the inflation secondary to the first world war. Hitler did not want anyone to overthrow him from power, and after the death of the president, he got the military and everyone else to swear their loyalty to him. The video shows of the murders and the segregation that the Jews faced. The better part of the video uncovers the theme of hopelessness, segregation, and the negative side of the Nazi regime. The video also goes to the extent of giving the cause and effect of the holocaust. The video is exhaustive and briefly explains the historical period of Germany.
