Who is to be blamed?
I was in 9th standard when I had a school picnic. So, things were like I have to go to my school (walking), as the school was at walking distance and then the school bus had to take us to the picnic. A day before we were strictly told to reach the campus by 8 am as the bus will leave by 8:15 am. But guess what? I reached the college at 8:20. I looked here & there and didn’t find the bus anywhere. I went inside the school gate and saw one of my classmates ‘Oh Angel’, I silently murmured ‘Has the bus left’?
Yes! he replied
‘But when’?
‘5 minutes back.’
Oh no! All my excitement seemed to go to waste. My snacks, new water bottle, games, everything packed in my bag would be unpacked at home and not in the picnic. I took a deep breath and walked back towards home. I walked some 500 meters when I realised that if the bus already left then what my classmate was doing there?
I ran back, found him and asked ‘The bus left you said, but you are still here, no extra classes I am sure”. He looked at me and said “I am here for the picnic, one bus left when one is still to leave.
I saw him and smiled — with no words to explain what I thought. Nobody was to blame. I asked, he said. Neither was he wrong nor I. The school bus blew the horn and we both stepped inside and went to the picnic with other students. All the way I have wondering, who was to be blamed?
