why Jesus, Muhammad, and Luther are associated with prophecy

Some people think prophets as people who predict the future, but it takes more than just telling about the future. Prophets have to endure more to win people’s trust and get accorded the divine might associated with prophecy. Prophets usually become popular among people. They are widely accepted and draw the attention of large masses. Prophets also to suffer consequences related to their powers. Prophets may be religious or secular; they are gauged by their abilities to foretell the future. Holy prophets include the likes of; Jesus, Moses, Jeremiah, and Isaiah. The Greeks had a prophetess known as Cassandra; she foretold that the Trojan horse could be used to defeat the great city. Muslims also have prophet Muhammad who is the founder of their religion. The secular prophets include; Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King. This paper analyzes why Jesus, Muhammad, and Luther are associated with prophecy.

Prophecy is complicated; it is always difficult to tell genuine prophets from the fake ones. People must break down the idea of prophecy and get to learn prophets by their real characters to avoid falling into pit traps of cheats. Apart from foretelling the future, prophets have some unique characteristics that make them stand out and win people’s trust and respect. Jesus came into a society where people used to suffer. He came to offer solutions to some of the serious problems encountered by people by then. Jesus proved his might by doing what he preached; his character made people associate him with divinity. Jesus led groups and showed them the presence of God through celebrations and worshipping. Jesus was a prophet who offered people joy and what they wanted; he could interact with all; this was a unique character of a person at his caliber. Jesus acted according to prophecy when he disrupted the businessmen in the temple. He replicated what Jeremiah had warned earlier; “turning churches into a den of robbers.”

Millions of Muslims believe that Jesus is the second prophet after Muhammad. Muslims believe that both Muhammad and Jesus were God’s massagers. However, unlike Christians, they do not believe that Jesus has the divine powers Christians give him. In both groups, they promote Jesus and Muhammad’s views of living together as good neighbors, respecting other people, and above all, loving God. Despite the differences between Jesus and Muhammad, the two men are associated with many changes experienced in the world today. The two prophets might not have been so popular among people or liked by all because prophets are often criticized and mocked because of their powers. Martin Luther was also referred to as a prophet not only because of his prediction of black and white unity but also for the love he had for the people. Prophecy is associated with more than just having to foretell about what will happen.

In a nutshell, Good prophecy is measured with the ability of prophets to do Good. Personal characters separate prophets of doom from the real ones. The real prophets the likes of; Jesus, Muhammad, and Martin Luther King focus more on connecting people instead and enhancing their welfare. The prophets ensured that people are free from suffering. For example, they provide that people are free from hunger and violence. The prophets are accorded high social status and divine powers by the people who believe in them. Prophecy is made strong by living on what you preach for the people. If you want people to trust you and what you tell them, you must lead by example. All the prophets have a great sense of humanity and good characters that makes many people years later want to imitate them. We should learn to differentiate fake from real prophets based on what they present to us.
