People lose motivation when a seeking system in human brains, which helps in taking meaningful, challenging tasks and learning new skills are not recognized. (Cable, 2018) suggest that an organization’s concern for the protocols and fear for exploration and experimentation of the freshly hired individuals is a crucial factor with the lion’s share in contributing to the loss of motivation. For instance, Tom, a newly hired website developer, was bored with the company since his boss could not give him time for learning, exploration, and experimentation, according to (Cable, 2018). When Individuals seeking systems are deactivated, people lose their motivation and become bored quitting their jobs. As they make advances to a new workplace where their neurotransmitters are linked to the pleasure, motivation, and the jolt of dopamine for exploration, experimentation, and learning (Cable, 2018) asserts in his Harvard Review of Why People Lose Motivation.
Consequently, failures of organizational leaders to activate employees seeking system make an employee adoptive unconscious notice that their human potential is being wasted. However, it is sometimes difficult for the leaders within such an organization system with bureaucratic red-tape policies and roadblocks to activate their employees seeking system. The only sure way is through, creating the opportunity for experimentation of the new ideas, personalizing the purpose of the job and encouraging them to play to their strength, these strategies are applied globally to renew the individuals lost motivation. (Cable, 2018) further asserts that employees lost motivation can be regained through creating an experimental safe zone. To ignites, intrinsic motivation instills self-confidence and competence within the employees as they use their unique skills after their seeking system is activated, which are later recognized and valued by an organization and the organizational leadership.
Strategies Used By the Managers to Trigger Employees Motivation # Question 2
Three approaches used to trigger employees’ motivation are Self-expression, Experimentation, and Purpose. Self-Expression, cable suggests that human beings possess an innate drive to prove to others who they are. For the employees to do so, their bosses should let them express themselves within a system as they become activated through employing their unique skills, which enables them to feel alive and attached to the company. Experimentation, an organization helps the employees in gaining their lost motivation through experimental safe zones in play, and supportive social bonding from which the fear and anxiety of the employees are prevented as more intrinsic motivations are developed, hence creativity according to (Cable 2018). Purpose, additionally, Cable’s Harvard Review advocates for the use of purpose as one of the strategies which can be explored by the leaders and the organization bosses in curing the employees’ lost motivation. Purpose as a strategy ignites the cause of effects between inputs and the team progress. It helps the team of employees in identifying what works best. (Cable, 2018) suggests that through purpose, the employees get to interact directly; thus, they become more personally connected hence producing their best.
