What is your history/background/experience with yoga?
I hear about yoga from my friends, on TV, radio, and I see it in magazines too. Most of my friends who practice yoga say that it helps them focus more on their inner thoughts, and at the same time, they can sleep well past the daily stress that plagues the quality of sleep. I stay up till late working on my computer, assignments, and sometimes, sleep on the couch after dozing off. I wake up complaining about pain in my back and neck, and when I tell my friends about my consistent experience, they are always telling me to do yoga. For some time, hesitance has been my norm since I am not the biggest fan of stretching my body, let alone doing a simple workout. However, I am now willing to give in since I can visibly see the change on my friends; they are happier and more active. I want to integrate their experience into my life.

What do you hope to gain from this class (physically, mentally, emotionally)?
I have long suffered from back pain due to the constant pressure I put on my back since my younger years. My lifting of heavy loads, sitting inappropriately, and staying up till late, working on my laptop or binging movies. I want to get rid of this discomfort, once and for all. I also want to confront my inner thoughts, my fears, and the ambitions, what I really want from this life. I believe yoga will help me achieve this since it has assisted others to do the same. Sometimes I get too much pressure from work and responsibilities, occasionally the expectations overwhelm me, and I just want to relax and unwind. I want to disappear into oblivion, where it is just me, myself and I, and yoga will be the perfect way to undertake such.
