Inclusion of reading “digital amnesia” in the Course outline
I write to defeat this reading “digital amnesia” to be included in the course outline. I feel this text studies the photography and memory where the participant was provided with digital cameras and taken to the art museum to take pictures of various objects. Studying this text will develop the skills and knowledge on how to differentiate different images we photographed and brand the new photos. I also believe that this reading will enable us to understand the types of camera movement during photography like zooming, tilting, and panning. Besides, the text relates to various work of different researchers like Maria Wimber, a professor and lecturer at Birmingham University who linked digital amnesia and pre-membering. Also, the work of Professor William Charles Uricchio which argued that memory and media have a long history according to Plato’s Phaedrus. Pre-membering enables people to take a startling, unfamiliar, dynamic escape to Iran” and different life situations, to reduce shareable, clickable content and to be systematic.
Basing on the article “My escape to Iran” by Bibinaz P, the author experienced challenges due to family violence. The writer decided to move from their household in search of solace and a comfortable environment. The author narrates how things became terrible in her grandmother’s resident Tehra (Bibinaz, 2014). He recalls how she believed that things would hook in a positive path before her departure from their family’s homestead. This article relates to this reading because becoming perfect in photography will open an avenue for remembering some devastating occurrences. For example, the way the author explains the difficult situations she faced due to her mother’s failing relationship, even as we will be keeping photos that we take in a tour and save them as a memorial for even younger generations. Therefore, I feel this reading should be included in the course outline because we will apply this knowledge in future.
Thank you
