Microchimerism

These are small number of cells that come from another individual and are hence different from those of host individual. The cell may be transferred from mother to child during birth; mother cells may persist in the offspring after birth or even the fetus cells persisting in the mothers.

How microchimeric cells escape the surveillance of the immune system

The microchimeric cells will attack the body and tend to defeat its immune system from destroying them. There are various means and ways through which these cells will be able to tolerate the body immune system. Some of the ways are as follows; For instance the available white blood cells whose work is to fight diseases and those foreign cells may also be foreign hence they tend to be inefficient to function well. The other cause of this is because the gestation periods weaken the immune system of the mother making her body immune system unable to function well. This will make her unable to kick away those cells. The other instance which may result to the cells tolerating the immune system is the lack of mature lymph nodes restraining homeostatic activation in the body of the foetus. This will make the foetus unable to fight these foreign cells hence their multiplication in the entire body.

Despite some of these diseases resulting from pregnancy physicians should actually encourage pregnancy. This is so because this is only the best way of procreation as compared to the other artificial methods such use of crowning methods. This is because some of the artificial methods may be accompanied by some complications and at the same time being expensive to implement.
