- Problem to be solved by the Campaign
Through the Swim United campaign, the USA swimming wanted to solve the problem of poor participation by increasing membership participation by more than 10%. This Campaign was also to create an awareness that swimming is not just a leisure activity but also a sport that would help to develop a swimmer even in aspects of teamwork.
- Best communication goal.
Shifting attitudes and perception was the communication goal of the Campaign. This is because, since the general understanding of most people was that swimming was not a sport but a leisure activity, the Campaign was to change that perspective to register more people into the team and increase participation in the sporting activity.
- Five social media strategies used in the champaign
There were social media strategies that were used in the Campaign to increase their dominance in social media. These were;
- The use of a hashtag. They used the hashtag #swimunited, which would be used to popularize the post and ease their search.
- The use of influencers. They used influencers, and this is a tactic where you use the people with a more substantial following to reach more people.
- Creation of relevant social media content. This created more awareness and increased their presence in social media.

- Adjusting the target efforts. This increases the reach of your brand to more people.
- Using digital ads. This helps to make sure that your content is viewed by more people, even those not following you.

Social media technology has grown and developed over time, and different applications have come up each with its primary audience. Some of the ways we would use are held an online contest and have people win some giveaways such as t-shirts and caps branded with #swimunited. This will create more awareness and have people participate more in our platforms, thus increasing traffic to our social media platforms which already has great content to invite people into membership.
- Ask questions
Asking questions increases participation and thus creates the mood to start a conversation. In so doing, we get to understand the audience’s feedback and also we can sensitize people more on the objectives of Swim United.
- Boost the successful post
For content that has received more attention, you have the option of boosting its reach by paying to the platforms; therefore, we shall invest part of the budget into promoting those posts.

The social media metrics that we will use to gauge our growth would be the engagements in the platforms. This will make sure we know that people have had and understood the message we put across. (Funk, T., 2020).
