Response to Romanticism

Romanticism relates to the artistic and literary movement that began in the late 18th Century and went ahead up to the mid-19th Century. It represents and denotes various political and human aspects that made Gericault feel interested more.  It is well brought out in the Raft of Medusa. The artistic work captures the realism, brutality, and emotions that were historical, and that shocked a revolution weary public and the French republic.

Romanticism was vital in shaping the literature, music, and arts. It is through it that the spirit of art grew and brought about the results that are witnessed today.  The primary motion of romanticism is based upon individualism and emotions and glorification of medieval issues rather than the classical ones (Ventura, 2019).  In the Raft of Medusa, visual arts such as the oath of the haratii, 1784, Jules Boel, Construction of the raft of the medusa, 1873 and Theodore Gericault, sketch for the raft of the medusa, 1819 explains the radicle changes that the work of art went through. Art is highlighted as one of the best ways of communication, and through it, critical information is passed from one party to another.

Romanticism is essential due to various factors. The first one is that it takes into account activities to do with a familiar persona and childhood. Similarly, it portrays strong emotions, feelings, and senses. It is awe in its nature, and that is why it impacts activities in one way or the other (Ventura, 2019). It raises the importance of imaginations as well as showing the radicle changes and transitions that different works have gone through. Romanticism is vital because it portrays to what extent it has changed the perspective that people see nature.
