Juvenile Reentry

Question one

According to what I have read and watched, it is evident that some juveniles want to transform. Some of them state that they have changed entirely and ready for the world. For instance, while locked in juvenile centers, they are offered educational programs that will help transform their lives. For example, while in juvenile centers, teenagers are taught different programs. Some of the programs include learning activities as some of them admit not learning while they were out there. The first thing this program is for the youth to admit the mistakes they did and acknowledge the harm they have caused. By accepting this, it will be easy for them to go through the program, which will help them. The juveniles, in this case, will be allowed to join the world (Jackson, 2002)They will be allowed to undertake various social programs in the communities. A social worker and parents will monitor such applications. The parents will also ensure that the children follow this program and are integrated into the community. The critical thing to consider in this case is the fact that the members of the community have the role of ensuring that they provide better conditions that will help facilitate the reentry of the teenagers. Some people will argue that such programs will not be effective since they juveniles will repeat the same mistakes. They do not have faith in these programs since they term as not useful. The other thing is that most people think that this youth has not transformed, and they will not successfully follow some of these programs.

Question 2

Juvenile reentry programs are designed to prepare the youths back into society. The main aim of these programs is to help reduce any form of recidivism among juveniles. Some of these programs start right after the youth are detained. In the detention facilities, they are involved in various programs such as learning and the use of computers. They also engage in multiple activities that are meant to shape their lives positively. Some of the essential programs in this are various sessions that cover coping skills or different therapy sessions. The coping skills program is essential for it will teach the juveniles on how they are supposed to cope with society once they are out there. They also undergo various therapy sessions, which prepare them psychologically on what to find out there. The other essential program is traditional juvenile programs (Mathur & Clark, 2014).  Here, they are allowed to work in the community with the watch of their parents or a social worker. It is the best method since the juveniles will not feel locked out of society. They will learn to interact with other people in society as well as accomplished the programs. One of the most significant challenges with implementing such programs is the fact that some of these juveniles easily get offended doing the same day each day. The other thing is that social workers may not be available at all times to watch on the progress of the juveniles.

Question 3

The juveniles need to be provided with the best conditions whole out there. They need to be supported both psychologically and physically. They need to be engaged at all times. It is stated that an idle mind cannot make someone do something that is not right. To come up with the best program, it is right for the family members and immediate family to be there for the juveniles. They need to regularly talk to them and assure them that all will be well despite what they have gone through. They can come up with therapy sessions where they get to talk to them from time to time. The other thing is that the youth do not like to be lectured, so one can come up with a better approach to how they can drive some topic home. The other thing is for the families to follow up on the progress of the children. They allow the children to have their freedom but restrict them once in a while. The program will be evaluated by observing the behaviors of the children and checking whether they accomplish their tasks on time. The other thing is to create collaborations and partnerships. For the program to bet work, one can significantly work with the courts, police department, and the department of correction. They will ensure that the program is effectively programmed, and they keep track of the progress of the program. In this case, the youth can follow the program and be able to complete it successfully. (Cambridge Educational, 2008).
