Auditing Cash
In business, complete or partial assessment of cash transactions needs to be carried out after a certain period. Various articles have been written about auditing cash. Why it is vital to an organization, however, a recent article published by “Halltalk” remains outstanding because of how it presents its ideas about cash auditing. From the article, I learn different concepts about cash auditing, which are crucial to my job as an auditor general.
Some of the common ways of auditing cash include cash walk-through, primary cash assertions, and principal risks for money. Cash may be stolen, overstated to cover-up theft, or be misstated due to errors in the bank reconciliation. However, during cash auditing, it is crucial to get the correct values within the organization. Cash flow within an organization helps determine whether the company is making losses or gains. Also, accurate cash audits help to identify whether cash was invested rightly and the returns the organization is gaining from its investments. In general, cash auditing should be carried out frequently to reveal the financial status of a company and the necessary adjustments to be made to increase revenue.
