Seven Ways to Use the Extra Day This Leap Year It is believed that life very rarely gives second chances to anyone in this world. It is also said that time does not wait for anyone; rather, everyone has to run along to catch up with it. So that is why everybody wants a little bit more time to do the things he or she wanted, go to places, see the beauties of nature, fulfill the unfulfilled wishes and desires, etc. Unfortunately, this does not come true for a majority of people in their lifetimes. So when the celestial bodies and time combine to give everyone a second chance, we should grab it and make the most of it. By second chance, it is meant that this year is a Leap Year; that is, we have an extra day in the Calendar. Leap Year occurs every four years and is considered very lucky by some religions and traditions worldwide. Fortunately, this year February 2020 has 29 days instead of the normal 28 days. So we should thank time that…
Tips for Writing your Wetland Field Trip Paper Format Guidelines Your paper should be a minimum of 10-12 pages double spaced with an appropriate font. While you will not be penalized for going over 12 pages, I do not believe you can thoroughly address every item specified in the handout to receive full credit in less than 10 pages. Label pictures appropriately. For example, if you are required take a picture of a specific species of vegetation, your picture should clearly distinguish which plant you are referring to and label that plant. Do not provide a big picture of your vegetation and list all in the picture. There should be one picture per plant. Similar to how you have seen your vegetation pictures in your quizzes; your pictures should be clear so I know you know which plant is which. Make sure the work you turn in is your own and use citations when necessary. These papers will be submitted on Canvas and run through the TurnItIn.com system which will flag any instance of plagiarism. …

The use of the heritage language among Asian American I recently held an interview with my friend’s grandmother that moved to the united states in the 1980s. She was a newly married woman that followed her husband to California several months after he got a job in the local manufacturing company. She explained the long process of getting to be recognized as a citizen and eventually being able to raise her family. I inquired how she had developed the use of the English language. She explained that despite the many years of living in the US, she still struggles with several English words. She expressed that all of her friends and people she interacts with are of the Chinese heritage; thus, she rarely speaks in English. To her, speaking in mandarin aids in maintaining her roots and feel the connection to the motherland. From this interview, it was interesting to understand the interaction between assimilation and culture. The majority of Asian Americans have been assimilated into American culture. In that, adoption of English as the primary language, participation in national…
Course overview and impacts This course was very educative and informative. Through this course, I have learned a lot of things. The course has enabled me to understand various things related to student participation. I have learned that the most effective way to maintain more students is by offering them opportunities where they feel more connected to their choice of school. This means that more students are retained when feeling that they are part and parcel of the school through involving them in school activities. However, this course has enabled me to look beyond the student involvement. Instead of seeing involvement as just a way to retain the students, I am now interested in viewing how various programs can boost the rate of keeping students in school, especially students from a poor background. I have also learned that students and teachers can work as a team to implement some practices within the academic space. Therefore, I believe this course has contributed positively to my personal development. It has created self-awareness on issues like the peer mentoring program, which pairs do…
Learning styles and strategies Introduction Learning is a process that takes place in various approaches as a consequence of knowledge access. Training can be achieved through physical, tactile, reading/writing, and kinesthetic variations. Every factor can be mixed with a specific one. The use of graphs is, for example, visual, with an interpretation that forms part of aural communication and even hearing when the learner is practiced. On the other side, kinesthetic training is mainly used for outdoor games such as football or biking. It is important to remember that it is challenging yet quicker to show someone how to ride a bicycle. The use of kinesthetic methods is, therefore, more realistic and, at the same time, affects the body and the mind. VARK Questionnaire overview of the thinking method Each person uses different learning styles and strategies. Many people want to learn with the latest set of visual lessons, while others consider that the best approach is aural instruction. Multimodal approaches are the variations of all four forms, according to the concept VARK: Visual, Aural, Read / Write, and Kinesthetic…

ROE ET AL. v. WADE, DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF DALLAS COUNTY APPEAL FROM THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN JUSTICE BLACKMUN delivered the opinion of the Court. (…) Jane Roe, a single woman who was residing in Dallas County, Texas, instituted this federal action in March 1970 against the District Attorney of the county. She sought a declaratory judgment that the Texas criminal abortion statutes were unconstitutional on their face, and an injunction restraining the defendant from enforcing the statutes. Roe alleged that she was unmarried and pregnant; that she wished to terminate her pregnancy by an abortion “performed by a competent, licensed physician, under safe, clinical conditions”; that she was unable to get a “legal” abortion in Texas because her life did not appear to be threatened by the continuation of her pregnancy; and that she could not afford to travel to another jurisdiction in order to secure a legal abortion under safe conditions. She claimed that the Texas statutes were unconstitutionally vague and that they abridged her right of personal privacy, protected by the First, Fourth,…
Tips on being a good writer Any writer needs to indicate not only what his or her thesis is about but also the critics it is responding to, as illustrated in the story about Dr. X to give their audience a clear understanding of content. In a discussion, a writer needs to keep the audience engaged by explaining what the point they are explaining before giving the response or in the very beginning of a discussion. Giving the reader the point of response builds the reader’s ability to process the material. It is good first to process the material to develop the order of response and prepare for any critics. In developing an argument, it is important to start with what others are saying and summarize it at the very beginning of the text, but to do that a writer also needs to consider what they are going to give as their point of supporting the argument without overexplaining the point of others. As a writer, tie your position alongside “what they say” to give the argument clarity and give…
Motivation and Emotion-Reasons Behind People’s Actions A lot of people act in a certain way and engage in different activities based on their emotions and motivation at that instant. The actions that most people undertake in their pursuit to meet their needs are most on the basis of their feelings and thoughts. Emotional stability has proven to be very useful in individual performance, and scholars combine this with personal motivation and attribute it to success rates among individuals of interest. There is a high correlation between motivation and emotions, and one cannot work independently (Baumeister, 2016). In the first case study, the medical patient is at a high risk of a heart attack, and he’s well aware of what he needs to do to prevent this. For him, motivation is there to start working on his diet and doing regular exercises, but he lacks the proper emotional conviction to start the same. Pessimism gets in his way with individual motivation, and this affects his desire to work on himself, even though he knows that the doctor is right. His excuse…
