unruly children’s behavior The purpose of the law is mainly to establish fair standards, maintain order, resolve disputes, and protect human rights and liberties. This is always at every level in society, especially when the actions of the individual could cause harm to others and themselves. Members of the community also include children who might be out of control or acting in a manner that requires external reinforcement. As discussed, it is evident that the scope of punishable offenses is not only aimed at punishing the child, but they are also a way to show them what their future could look like if they continued with the same behavior. In as much as judicial intervention can be an alternative in rectifying behavior, given the sensitivity involved in the teenage years, it should be supplemented with other corrective measures (Roush, 2019). This is because in most cases where teenagers start committing offenses and are punished primarily through the system without other interventions, they tend to repeat these offenses in the future. In regards to the scope of unruly children’s behavior, the…

Sherry Turkle and Jon Ronson attempt to show how the transit into a technology-driven society will transform the nature of human conversations Technology has become a crucial aspect of our daily lives in the sense that it has revolutionized how we conduct our daily activities. For instance, changes in technology have made it possible to have instantaneous communication with people located in different geographical locations. Other aspects of our lives that have benefited from improved technology include the transport sector, health, education, and production industries.   In spite of the benefits associated with such changes, there are still significant downsides associated with the advancements in technology. This discussion is, therefore, based on essays authored by Sherry Turkle and Jon Ronson in an attempt to show how the transit into a technology-driven society will…

The role of women in society Of the night, the senator shouts his right of ownership,” O thou foul thief, where hast thou stowed my daughter?” In other words, Brabantio calls Othello, a thief for ‘stealing’ his daughter as if she is an object. These lines indicate how women were viewed as property rather than a person. Women underwent pain because of love. Desdemona disobeyed her father because she loves Othello, but later, Othello mistreats her and kills her. Although Desdemona shows an act of independence by making that decision, her further actions show her as a weak person. Bianca is a prostitute but in love with Cassio and suffers heartbreak because of him. Cassio is perceived to be happy to sleep with Bianca while, on the other hand, he dismisses the idea that he might marry her despite her submissive character. Iago also abuses Emilia and sees her as a sex object. He uses ill language to describe women, Iago states,” come on, come on: you are pictures out of doors, Bells in your parlors, wild cats in your…

Gender and women empowerment Gender and women empowerment are still the primary debatable issues in Indian society. Even though Men and women are equally paramount in the development of their families and communities, India’s prevalence of women inequality remains a significant concern for women’s movements in the country. Priority in education, property rights, and wealth creation is accorded to male children. Their female counterparts are often relegated to the confinement of their homes with little to no access to education or any form of opportunity for economic development. Over the years, the Government of India (GoI) has implemented numerous progressive measures to advance women’s equality and empower them in many societal levels. GoI established the Ministry of Women and Child Development and National Commission for Women, which operate on the national and state level to promote women equality and empowerment. These women groups have been able to make significant advances in seeking women justice through the creation of legislative changes that allow women to take positions in political leadership. Also, the group has been instrumental in seeking justice for women’s…

Gender Study Introduction Both male and female genders are an equally important factor for the continued existence of the human race. However, over the years, there has been a lot of stereotyping and discrimination against the female gender. In recent years, the impact of this stereotyping has reduced, but its effectsare still evident in certain aspects of the different societies around the world. For example, in regions of Africa and Asia mostly, women have continued to be perceived as a less superior gender compared to the male counterpart. Historically, factors such as education and leadership were seen as more important to male people than in female people. Denial of equal opportunity in leadership uses a gender-biased language that discriminates against women, and sexual assaults and harassment are factors that hinder gender equality worldwide.   Women Emancipation Over the years, women have been thought of as people who are not fit to lead. Civil Rights and The Great Depression The civil rights movement that swept America in the 1930s led to a revolution that has been popularized by the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. King’s assassination was an indication of the intolerance towards blacks in their quest for equal treatment. The tragedy encouraged the human rights defenders leading to national discourses about the rights of all persons regardless of their skin color, persuasion, or ethnicity. Elements of the human rights violation, however, continued to persist in American society, including actions taken by President Hoover during the great depression. During this time, trade restrictions led to revenge actions from America’s trade partners, thus jeopardizing the livelihood of American farmers.  Through the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Americans expressed their frustration about unfair treatment based on color, creed, and persuasion, among other factors. Thesis Statement: Martin Luther King’s assassination was a significant turning point in the human rights campaigns in America that persisted in society since the 1930s following the passage of trade laws in the Smoot-Hawley Act.
