My struggles as writer       It has been a while since I wrote in English and still nothing has changed: “I am bad at writing”. Over and over on my mind: “English as a second language and that’s why I will never improve”. It’s like a huge door and I am down there alone trying to open it. I have several weaknesses and the most overwhelming is thinking less of myself like I can’t do it, it’s hard. “Working hard is important, but there is something that matters even more: believing in yourself” said Harry Potter (Rowling). When I read this quote, it changed the way I’m thinking. I realized that I should believe in myself. Therefore, from that point whenever I feel discouraged, I go back to that quote.  It became my source of inspiration. I have decided that I will improve my English and writing, such as rhetorical knowledge, critical reading and conventions (Cross and Hubbell 5). My second language will never ever be an excuse for being bad. Furthermore, I failed once to meet my teachers’ expectation,…

Self-care plan              Emotional self-care is an integral part of a self-care routine. Most people overlook their emotions when planning a self-care routine. However, emotions play a vital role in our lives and also need nourishment. Just like books and intellectual material nourish our brains, our emotions need to be explored, understood, and expressed. Understanding the importance of emotional self-care, I came up with an emotion self-care plan. I always explore my emotions before making a critical choice. I realized that my feelings impact my decision, even unknowingly. Therefore, to avoid making irrational decisions, I ask myself how I would feel before making a decision. Exploring my emotions is a way of ensuring I do not regret after making a choice. I will be comforted by the fact that I considered all circumstances, including my emotions. I express my emotions after processing what I feel. Before understanding the importance of emotional self-care, I used to bottle up my feelings to confrontations. For instance, if a friend made me angry, I would avoid telling them that they made me angry. However,…

Abstract for “My Last Duchess” by Robert Browning In this poem, “My Duchess” poet Robert Browning explores the conflict of man versus self to reveal the insecurities the Duke had within himself, therefore, he perpetuated his insecurities towards his wife using control.   The author of the critical analysis of “The Story of An Hour” attempts to reveal how freedom was expressed within one main character, Louise Mallard.  The author researches the meaning of freedom physically and spiritually to identify the struggle Mrs. Mallard had to find freedom within herself and her marriage.  (The third paragraph is a summary of YOUR critical analysis essay on “The Passing of Grandison”.   This third paragraph should tell the readers what you plan on writing about in your critical analysis essay of “The Passing of Grandison”.  You do not want to give a lot of information in this paragraph.  This paragraph should only be 1-2 sentences long.  This paragraph simply informs the reader on why you chose your thesis and how you came up with it.  Look at the sample to help you.). The Relationship between Length of Romantic Relationship and Forgiveness Levels During incidents of betrayal, which are acts of mistrust and disloyalty, a potential threat forms in a relationship between two people (Finkel, Rusbult, Kumashiro, & Hannon, 2002). In order to lessen this threat, the victim of an act of betrayal must have the motivation to express positive feelings toward the transgressor, despite the transgressor’s acts, which is also known as forgiveness (Kachadourian, Fincham, & Davila, 2004). In the context of romantic relationships, individuals develop the ability to accommodate for negative behaviors and make more sacrifices for their partners in order to reduce betrayal-related threats (Finkel et al., 2002). Therefore, as a relationship between two people continues to grow over time, these abilities relating to forgiveness also grow stronger (Wenzel & Okimoto, 2012). The current literature supports the argument of an association between the length of one’s current relationship and how much individuals are able to express forgiveness (Finkel, 2002; Kachadourian, 2004; Wenzel, 2012). Therefore, the purpose of the current study is to examine the nature of the relationship between length…

The benefits of ITSM versus the traditional IT Support model   EXECUTIVE SUMMARY   WHAT IS ITSM AND WHY DOES IT MAKE SENSE FOR IT?   In a BMC Blog titled, “ITSM vs .ITIL: What’s the Difference?” Stuart Rance (2017) writes, “IT service management (ITSM) is what you do to manage the services you deliver to your customers.” Furthermore, ITSM is implementing, managing, and delivering IT services to meet the goals of an organization.   Traditionally IT support focused on break/fix scenarios and didn’t look at the big picture. Businesses were often hit with large expenses to support a reactive environment. Introducing service management adds a continuous life cycle and framework from which IT operates. It is a more proactive approach. There are many benefits of using IT service management in today’s business as opposed to the traditional IT support model. For example, operational efficiency and cost savings are two areas that bring benefit to the organization.   In previous approaches IT support has traditionally focused on and provided the following services to its customers or end-users: break/fix hardware repair…

The Ethical Implications of having a Savior Sibling             Devotion to family is considered one of the highest virtues. Saving a sibling from a fatal disease is a heroic act that one cannot shy away from. In most cases, organ donors frequently feel proud, valuable and unique, and if the recipient is a family member, the other relatives will remain eternally grateful to them for saving a life. However, conceiving a child for the sole purpose of saving an older child is unethical. It is objectifying the life of a child by treating them as an accessory for providing a solution to a sickness. The paper asserts to look at the ethical implications from three perspectives; the selection of the embryo that will later develop into the savior child, the psychological wellbeing of both the savior and recipient children and also the effort put in to ensure the savior child understands their role as a donor. Most organ donors including siblings are consulted and given specific positive and negative outcomes of the whole procedure. Armed with full information of how…

Scary Story Billy was hiding in a cave near the Indian Ocean when the police approached. Under his fingernails were bits of human flesh, which he tried to nib frantically before he surrendered to the inevitable capture. Billy knew that they would put him behind bars, but as they dragged him down the narrow path toward the bulletproof cars, he vowed that he would escape; and then they would be sorry. In a frail attempt to escape, Billy punched the nearest officer, landing a powerful blow on his face. The remaining men knocked him to the ground and tied up his feet and hands with ropes to contain him, the serial killer. He was sentenced to a lonely prison for the criminally insane; his only companions were the wardens and fellow madmen. Over the next seventeen years, Billy obsessed over escaping and spent every spare second planning his escape. He studied every weakness in the prison system and mastered every move of all the guards. The first plan Billy had was to dig his way out, and he spent several…

CORPORATE RISK MANAGEMENT ISSUES             Risk has proved to be an inherent portion of almost all the endeavors undertaken by mankind. However, it’s not a reason to worry because the higher the risks, the greater the rewards. And whereas some of the risks are well-known, there are others which are unknown and emerge as a surprise. Corporates have adopted procedural outlines and guidelines to mitigate such risks by coming up with decision-making procedures in regard to the matter, also called corporate risk Management (Merna & Al-Thani, 2011). This process entails mitigating all the potential losses, hazards and liabilities. This has however become increasingly difficult in the current changing and unpredictable world. There are different kinds of risks faced in different project s and organizations. And yes, although not all some of these organizations approach certain risks firmly. But in other times, the risks appear as surprise and if not anticipated fully, can result into human, financial and property losses.
