The Facebook research study The Facebook research study entailed manipulating the news feeds to determine whether emotions through social networks are contagious. The findings revealed that emotions via such platforms are indeed contagious. The information about the study demonstrates causation. When news feeds had positive information, people’s response posts were also positive (Goel, 2014). Likewise, much of the negative content led to users writing negative posts. It indicates that the mood of the news feeds directly shaped the behavior as well as the responses of the viewers. It is what referred to as the emotional contagion where one’s emotions are transferred to another person without their awareness (Kramera, Guillory, & Hancock, 2014). Other variables that could account for the same include sad or happy news in the media. For instance, if there would be good news in the media and the news feeds are manipulated to be positive, these feeds would meet happy users who respond positively. If the psychologists were to conduct the study, they would address several ethical issues such as informed consent, deception sand debriefing. First, they…
Paul’s View of Evil Paul’s perception of sin is that it is acquired from birth and that it can be inherited. This means that everybody is a sinner. Human beings have always strived to lead upright lives to please God, but they have never achieved the uprightness and glory that the almighty wanted for his people, as Paul explains in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Paul’s perception about Evil or sin is consistent with the Psalmist’s view of sin in the Old Testament: “Behold, I was shaped in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.” One cannot fail to notice the universality of sin from Paul’s teachings. To a more significant extent, he relies on the texts of the Old Testament to teach about Evil. For instance, he refers to the Psalmist’s explanation of sin (Psalms 51:5) in Romans 5:12: “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way, death came to all people because all sinned.” This verse echoes…

Peer Response Hello Rachel, I agree with your perspective on the assigned readings on the discovery of America. I found the topic to be exciting as it gets to talk much about how America was founded in 1492. It also discusses some of the discoveries that were made during the period. One of the discoveries was by Christopher Columbus over his first voyage. I found it amusing to learn about his navigation, where he hoped to rule the Mongols upon his arrival. The fact that he even wished to become the ruler but got limited makes a lot of sense as, during the days, there was a lot of competition. Due to the intensity of the competition, it was difficult for Columbus to meet his goals. At one point, he even had no idea of the role he had played in the world until later on. I equally agree that America evolved from Amerigo Vespucci, which is one of the points that amused me in the entire reading. Growing up as a child, it was common to be told that…
Peer Review. It is indeed true that the expulsion of the Cherokees was mainly due to the interest in arable land during the widespread development of cotton horticulture in the Southeast. However, it was not the only reason; the revelation of gold on Cherokee land was another reason and also the racial preference that many white southerners harbored toward American Indians. The whites were likewise displeased with the Cherokee religious and cultural practices. It was due to these above reasons that the Federal government sent troops that ousted the Cherokee Indians from their genealogical country in the Southeast and expelled them to the Indian Territory in what is presently Oklahoma. I agree that personal Computing was a mad rush to offer solutions to the enormous gap in the market for computers. The PC was conceived not for recreation, yet out of a need to tackle a dire calculating crisis. By 1880, the U.S. populace had increased so enormously that it took over seven years to classify the U.S. Evaluation results. The administration sought for a quicker method to take care…
