The Vigilance             The operation of a team is subject to conflicts in decision-making especially when the team members share different ideologies and are only brought together by fate. The system of behaviors and psychological processes that happen within a group are referred to as group dynamics. The group dynamics affect the effectiveness of decision-making since the effects of egoism and pride frequently surface. After the merger of PharmCO and ValMed, some team members felt that it was more of acquisition rather than a merger. The validity of the claim appears to have some reality since decision-making seems to be dictated by the former PharmCO officials in the core team. The case of Vigilance project is about team conflict with team cooperation being at a test, and the team may fail to solve the communication problem since the vast distance is hindering face-to-face interactions. The Vigilance project is a case of team conflict since there is lack of understanding and sacrifice. Successful teamwork is based on understanding and sacrifice (Livonia, 2016). The conflict could have started initially at the merger…

Plantinga’s Free Will Defence Plantinga’s response to Mackie’s Logical Argument from Evil goes by the name “the Free Will Defence.” Give a 4-5 page exposition of Plantinga’s Free Will Defence (found in God, Freedom and Evil, pages 29-55) in which you identify and asses five crucial assumptions that must be presupposed in order for the defense to work.     Plantinga disagrees with Mackie’s Logical Argument on the basis that a world where God is morally capable of good will enable humans with free will. Mackie argues that a world where God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent but where evil persists is contradictory and logically inconsistent. Platinga refutes this claim and asserts the free will defence; he shows that its is possible and logically consistent for God to simultaneously be omniscient, omnipotent, benevolent and for evil to exist in a world where people have free will.[unique_solution] Free Will – Statement Platinga uses his conception of free will to undermine Mackie’s argument. Mackie argues: There are possible worlds that even an omnipotent being can not actualize and that a world with…

Beautiful Boy Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey through His Son’s Addiction is a memoir written by David Sheff. He highlights the plight of his son, Nic, whose drug addiction metamorphoses from marijuana and alcohol to cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine. The author details the upbringing of Nic since he was born and tries to establish his failures as a parent that led the son to resort to drugs (Sheff, 2008). When Nic was born, his parents were happy to raise another human being besides them and take care of him. Sheff (2008) states that he wished the best for Nic, and believed that his life would aim at prosperity. As the drugs continue to have a debilitating effect on the user, the effects spill over to the family. Furthermore, society feels the adversity of drug addiction. The author blames himself for ignoring the initial signs of his son’s problems because he believed the excuses that Nic put across to absolve himself. The book brings into the limelight the misery of drug addiction to the user, the myriad of feelings such as…

Letter to the Editor- Population Health Policy Advocacy Current State of the Quality of Care for Veterans and the Opioid Disorder The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and other organizations have been working towards reducing opiate prescription to veterans. Despite these efforts, cases of opioid disorders continue to increase. There are two reasons why there is no considerable improvement in the care of veterans diagnosed with an opioid disorder.
