Ethical Aspects of a Study
The research tradition from this research has not expressly been mentioned. However, it can be inferred from research. It only identified aspects of the quantification that were viewed as problematic and identified the methods that will be used to identify the problem of maternal responsiveness. The data sources and research analytics and procedures were very congruent to the with the research tradition. Evidences of reflexivity were as well not present in the research.
Ethical Aspects of a Study
The research sub-sample was specifically selected from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC). The ethical endorsement for this research was gained from the ALSPAC Law and Ethics Committee as well as from Local Research Ethics Committee. However, the research doesn’t mention the steps it took to protect the privacy of the participants as well as how the discretion of data collected will be maintained. The study as well did not highlight vulnerable groups were also involved in this research.
Data Collection
Given the research question and the characteristics of the participants of the research I believe the researcher used the most appropriate method to capture data for the research. The techniques that were used for data collection include observation of the physical and behavior distinctiveness and also the cognitive ability of the sub-sample collected from the ALSPAC. The details that were identified would then be recorded in to a questionnaire. This questionnaire is not just any regular questionnaire, but one that has been developed by the Denver Development Screening Test. This questionnaire facilitates the analysis of various aspects in development of a child. This would require a mother to rate in relation to a given scale, how well their child sits or reached for toys in the house and how often the infant would make sounds that are not synonymous to crying.
