Evaluation of student performance, the process of collecting, scrutinizing, and using information about what students know and can perform, is the foundation for active teaching and learning. The link that exists between evaluation teaching and learning is both complex and collaborative. The act of collecting, reviewing, and using evaluation reports is essential to the learning and teaching process. Without meaningful assessment information, teachers can only be confident that they have taught. Still, they cannot be able to find out if students have learned what they intended to, or whether teaching applies to learners learning desires and importance.

The assessment process is cyclical. Each process is interconnected and relies on others. At the preparation process, choices made on what to test, the form of assessment to be used, the parameters against which student learning results will measure, and the best suitable assessment method for collecting information. The assessment phase includes designing or selecting assessment instruments, determining when and how assessments performed, then gathering, arranging, and analyzing the student achievement data. At the evaluation phase, the tutor decides on the learner’s improvement and the level of success compared to the learning results attained. During the period of reflection, tutors get a chance to contemplate the achievement of the evaluation phase adopted and make some changes to following training and assessment.

Formative assessment is the same as diagnostic assessment; however, it varies in that it offers the instructor continuous input on the quality of the teaching. Formative assessment includes a variety of methods that correctly used to achieve one or more of the following objectives:

• Track student education and offer students and their parents with feedback.
• Pinpoint development areas.
• Inspires and incentivize students to learn
• Assist emphasis on devotion and energy.
• Focus on what is essential to be learned.
• Provide lessons for knowledge, skills, and behaviors to be incorporated, demonstrated, and expanded.
• Promote target setting and track goal achievement.
• Reflect on the structure and efficacy of the curriculum, adjust or alter the training as appropriate

For a teacher to inspire and incentivize students to learn. He or she should give out rewards who performs well in the subjects or units they teach. Will build morale for students to put in more effort to be considered for that award. It is the method way to inspire students to learn and put in more effort in their studies.

A summative assessment often happens after a research process. The primary objective is to evaluate the expertise, skills, and experiences acquired over the duration of time to analyze the success of the learner. Summative assessments also involve higher stakes, meaning they have the highest point of interest. Cases of summative appraisals include:

• Exam at the mid of the term.
• End of course work projects.
• A paper like a thesis.
• A senior recital or musical performance was done at a specified period.

Skills and experience acquired being among the objectives of summative assessment for a tutor to design a summative evaluation he or she can set exams for learners to test the skills they have acquired after a certain period and experience that they have managed to develop over a specified duration of time.

There exist different formats of assessments that are adopted. One of the common is pencil-paper-format. It consists of open-ended questions. They do not require yes or no feedback; instead, they are statements that require a response, filling in blanks to complete reports, among many other methods.

The information collected during assessment can show the teachers level of thinking and reasoning that the learners can achieve, the performance of the learner will be improved as teachers will understand the strength and weakness of a student, helping them to know where to put more efforts to boost the level of reasoning and thinking of students. It accomplishes this because it was created in a manner of understanding learning development of the field of study and learner’s cognitive growth.it is also helpful harmonizing information that is collected from different sources to provide a collective intelligence that is able accomplish diverse functionality it will help learners to access multiple resources under one roof which will save on their such time for any information which could be scattered in different sources.

Important information and evaluation frameworks help students get their focus and allow them to share their ideas bringing learners from diverse ethnicity and political lineages and speak regarding their learning experiences. Once students learn evaluation criteria and methods and take responsibility to evaluate their own job’s worth, amount, and procedures, they improve their self-assessment abilities. The ultimate objective of the evaluation is to create independent all-time good learners who track and evaluate their individual development regularly.
