Farmed animals
People frequently used common phrases to refer to farmed animals in attempts to appeal to ugly parts of human nature. Some of these phrases include ‘like lambs to the slaughter’ or ‘Pearls before swine’ (AUTHOR 2). The references made portray how people portray the farmed animals as uncaring, about their fate, not being bright, and being monolithic regarding their identities. There is so much that people need to know about animals, including how to handle them right. Thus, the more we know about farmed animals and the meat industry, the less we would eat meat.
Farmed animals possess the usual emotions, such as fear and pain. However, most people are not keen on knowing that the animal’s emotions are familiar and complicated, just like people’s feelings. For instance, animals also experience optimism and pessimism. People often get the feeling of being unable to cope when encountered with good experiences and praise. On the other hand, people still experience bad feelings when they encounter bad encounters. Optimism and pessimism are, therefore, a deviation in judgment due to emotional battles. However, people interpret the experiences depends on their emotions, such as anxiousness and depression. Farmed animals, including chicken, cows, pigs, goats, and sheep, also experience these feelings. When the animals are subjected to torture through exposure to loud noise or the presence of a predator, their behavior changes just like that of people (Author 2). Stress makes their brains biased as they lose the ability to perform normally.
Farmed animals endure animal cruelty. Therefore, several animal rights have been set aside to protect the animals. For instance, breeding farmed animals in the factory affects animals that are used to obtain products such as milk, eggs, beef, and wool (CITE). Therefore, animals that suffer are subjected to compassion, killing to end their suffering. This move came with a lot of controversies since people have continually been taught about the atrocities against animals. Thus, no animal should withstand the pain that a human being is not supposed to experience.
Factory agriculture is responsible for the atrocities of animals. Most animal products in the world come from animals that are raised under harsh conditions. Due to the lobbying of the industry, some laws protect farm animals from cats and dogs. The work of animal organizations, charities has helped to raise awareness of the atrocities against farm animals. This has helped to increase vegetable production in the food industry since consumers have reduced the suffering of unnecessary animals in modern agriculture.
Corrupt practices against animals violate the explanation of cruelty to animals. Regulations have thus, damaged farm animals. Companies that refuse to consider animal interests often refuse to treat animals humanely also. Animals are supposed to have enough space, good health care, and humane treatment. When animals are treated as their existence, the amount of the products will certainly go down.
In conclusion, the lives of farmed animals relay on who the animals besides overlapping into the familiar territory in people’s minds. Every animal has its nature, just like each person has their own life. However, according to research, farmed animals are someone and not something (AUthor). Animals share the same mental and emotional traits that people acknowledge in the animals that are closest to them. Thus, the more we know about farmed animals and the meat industry, the less we would eat meat since no humane person can afford to kill animals.
