Finding Your Own Story and Recognizing Affinity Group

The success of any project depends on the story around it as well as its affinity group. It is, therefore, significant to create a good story around the project to gain more supporters and affinity groups. This may be effective if there is a good public relationship between a business and its environment. Stories speak more and, if effectively used, may have a significant impact on the success of the business. A project may gain more supporters if its operations reflect the stories said about it. “Customers and employees come and go, but supporters are with you for the long haul” (Mycoskie, 2013, p. 22).   Mycoskie further argued that it worth thinking about a story before starting a project. Once the project is initiated, then one needs to think of how to spread a story at any available opportunity, and this should be the main focus. He further argued that one might get an affinity group by identifying a community from where they come, be it the college or a state. Recognizing and an affinity group may be vital in boosting delivery, idea, and network shearing (Mycoskie, 2013). After identifying an affinity group, one can use any available opportunity to tell impactful stories that may make their business gain momentum and hence achieve their goals and dreams. Mycoskie (2013) argued that getting supporters begins with having a story that is worth supporting. One should not only focus on starting a money-making project but coming up with a business that may as well connects its supporters to things that have a great impact and matter to them. Customers may need your goods for various reasons— because it is smart and fashionable, it works as per their expectations, it has a competitive price or because it provides some aspects of innovation (Mycoskie, 2013). Supporters may only believe in your activities and buy into your stories since it reflects into reality and would, therefore, be part of it. This, therefore, means that your supporter will be significant to your business only if your story matches what you are doing. The story and affinity group, therefore, are pivotal factors for the success of anything that one would wish to accomplish in life.

Conclusively, impactful stories around a business’ products are a determinant of how successful it may be. A business will be successful if it reflects the true picture of the stories said about it. This may be more effective is an affinity group is recognized and making use us of the available opportunity to share with them the stories around the business.
