Functional and Nonfunctional Requirements
The study highlights some of the essential functional and nonfunctional requirements of the Rosa county Public Safety Upgrade system.
Functional requirements.
- The CAD should automatically connect calls to employees.
The need for employees to take calls is to get detailed information and enable timely dispatching as it solves the issue of high call volume. By allocating calls to various employees not engaged and monitor the call time, thus requiring additional employees and increasing the number of callers and dispatchers requirement.
- The call system should allow the police to record 911 calls.
Through recording the project and the system meets the requirement of increasing the reputation of the police department through enhancing the call response quality. Recording provides a learning experience for raising the professional level by meeting the needs of the callers and caller taker
- Only managerial level employees should have the right to view 911 calls data and incorporate the GPS.
It would help in meeting the requirement of improving the efficiency of call taker and dispatchers through providing GPS location of the caller and maintaining the security of the data information
Non Functional Requirements.
- The system should handle the vast population.
Due to the massive population of 900,000 covering over 500 square miles, the computer-aided dispatch should accommodate the overwhelming 911 calls to reduce the cumbersome and labor intensive call response system improving efficiency.
- The system should provide privacy of information.
It is upon the system to safeguard the safety of the caller’s sensitive information by protecting the CAD system.
- Every employee, 911 responses, must be recorded for audit purposes.
The system should enhance services by providing information on the relationship of the users, which promotes the system to manage meeting all the requirements set and deliver services efficiently through meeting budgetary needs.
