Introduction

The general study on the research paper is to research the effect of the hurricane in Florida. The study will evaluate the impact of hurricane Irma on the economy of Florida. Hurricane Irma is one of the problems facing Florida, which is the bracing catastrophic that hits Florida, which its economy is essential to the United States.  The research will mainly demonstrate how Hurricane Irma is affecting the economy and business of Florida (King et al. 2019, November)

From Feher et al. (2019), Florida light and power, the State’s most prominent electric utility firm, has given warning that many residents of Florida are at risk of being affected by power Outages mainly during the hurricane. According to research, it has been discovered that more than 35,000 households, mostly in Miami-Dade have been affected by this problem as they are experience power lost due to heavy rains and winds this is a report from the Florida power and light. Many households are experiencing energy loss for several weeks. As a result of the storm of high magnitude, there will be a high spread of destruction in many parts of Florida, and most people will move to South Florida, causing a high population. Researchers have discovered that it is North Florida, which is the most region that is usually affected by the storm. This is the study done by Silagy Eric. In his statement, he predicted that this would be a challenging problem when it comes to the restoration process that Florida will have difficulties in restoring affected areas. There fears that the two nuclear power-producing stations may be shut down just before the predicted Irma occurs.

The other problem that Florida is experiencing due to Hurricane Irma is the shortage of gasoline.  There have been shortages in Florida as the residents are at the rush of refilling gas due to fear of hurricane occurring that will lead to the lack of gasoline. According to Ward et al. (2017, December), thescarcity has happeneddue to the chunk of U.S. refinery volume, which was cracked offline throughout the occurrence of Harvey struck hurricane along the Gulf Coast. The shortage of gasoline has negatively impacted the residents of Florida, who are now paying more on the price of gas..

Air travel has been affected by the impact of HurricaneIrma as it has caused severe damages to airports, runways, and another infrastructure in the Caribbean Islands and this is a critical problem to air travel. This damage to airports has extended to Florida and destroyed many of its airports. According to airport managers of Central Florida’s and Southern airport is expected to be closed every time whenever Irma occurs and this cause problem in travelling to both local individuals and foreign citizens. According to American Airlines is that once hurricane occurs, airports usually take time to resume operations, and this affects travelling schedules of travellers in Florida.

The presences of sand beaches are significant sites in Florida. The appearances of Sandy beaches attract more tourists both from Florida itself and from other States of the United States and across the world. When visitors visit these sites such as theme parks, they bump billions of money into the economy of Florida every year. Irma, which is a dangerous storm, mostly affects the State of Florida, mainly on the southern islands of Florida, which is the largest tourist attraction industry in Florida. When a hurricane occurs in this region, it leads to the destruction of tourist sites, and this leads to loose of tourists’ attraction sceneries. The damage to tourists’ landscapes will lead to a reduction in the number of tourists visiting Florida. This will have a direct impact on the economy of Florida and the entire government due to loose of revenue. Hurricane leaves excellent destruction, which is a significant problem for the prosperity of Florida.

The other problem that Florida experiences as a result of the hurricane are the destruction of Agriculture. Florida State is known for the production of Florida oranges. When Irma occurs, it is decidedly worse as the storm destroys many trees of oranges by breaking the curl, and it causes create loose, especially when it is nearing ripening season. The wind also affects horticultural and finish industries, which leads to loss of periods as they occur.

Hurricane has also caused a significant threat to human life. Irma is known to be disastrous not only to growths and the environment but to human life. The storm has generated about 76 deaths in the United States. When it occurs, the government has been witnessing the loss of life and destruction of individual properties as it destroys properties. This is a problem for the economy of the United States as it has to spend more on resettling the affected population. Recovery in all communities that are affected usually takes years, and it is costly, The Florida State and all of America as the storm cause severe and extreme damages. The Irma storm is so dangerous that it even leads to the destruction of water storage sites like the Guajataca Dam, which created a humanitarian crisis of about 3.5 million U.S. people who live there as freshwater supplies dwindle and food.

After the hurricane Irma that hit Florida, the State created a comprehensive set of climate resilience design procedures for significant projects in the region. As a result of extreme weather disasters and storms affect all cities and neighbourhoods, it hit the communities of colour and families staying in prone areas of failure. These help the government in determining vulnerable areas and advising communities on such areas to be warned and move away from such regions during disaster periods. These prioritizing of cities is very important to the State of Florida, and its citizen’s as it helps the government and communities to be updated and prepare adequately for any risks that are expected to occur (Goodie et al. 2019)

The State of Florida has also put measures in place to increase funds for Federal Emergency Management Agency this organization to provide funding to states, design and initiate long-term plans to protect individuals, businesses and homes from dangerous weather occasions. Pre-Disaster mitigation grants can assist tribes, communities and nations to create hazards mitigation plans that assess future extreme weather and floodswith storms.

Conclusion

Florida is one state in the United States that is faced with significant problems, mainly environmental and climatic issues. The major problem examined in this paper is the impact of Hurricane Irma that has been one of the significant issues that affect its economy and human life. Policymakers have a duty of assisting its citizens who are affected by Irma storm to rebuild destroyed properties. To restore resilience, the affected communities and those areas that have experienced this problem will require the assistance of the State and the government of America to have a well-formulated procedure to restore damaged properties. The emergency agencies should work effectively to give early warns on areas that may be affected by the storm to avoid deaths. If the Florida state and the government implement the above-proposed amendments, it will save the life of its people and such problems, if well predicted, can be managed not to cause many destructions.
