Importance of Showing Virtues to Others
Virtues represent the character of an individual, in most cases used to determine the destiny of a person. Individuals who have realized the impact of practicing virtues have on their lives, and the lives of others enjoy a life filled with joy and fulfillment. Acceptance is a good virtue when interacting with others; it is good to accept people for who they are; people should never be judged. The right way of accepting others is by forgiving them and being contended with their actions (Chapman, 2020). An individual with an ideal character can be described to be a virtuous person. Virtues occurred naturally, but an individual need to nurture them until they become stable. Noble people will never misuse their morals in order to gain favours from other people (Chapman, 2020). many people do not understand what it takes to be a good person; this research study aims to understand when one individual benefits from the virtues of another individual.
In many cases, people fail to appreciate that good character and virtues go hand in hand. The truth of the matter is a virtue is connected to good relationships and joy. Individuals who pursue virtues, in most cases, have good relationships with others. Attributes like the act of kindness, compassion, humility, and patience, when shared with others, it helps them to thrive (Chapman, 2020). People benefit from the virtues of another person when they come together to form an association. Before building society or having an association, the two parties are in a state of nature. In a state of nature, having good relationships is very difficult; people can easily kill or harm one another (Chapman, 2020). Individuals living in the state of nature will realize that it is in their best interest to come together for their common good. It took the virtue of unity from one individual for the two parties to come together. Such an instance shows when a person has benefited from the virtues of another person.
An individual benefit from the virtues of another person if they are treated with honour. A person should respect others and treat them in the way that they, too, would like to be treated. When one honours another person, they will earn a good reputation from those that surround them. A person will benefit from the virtues of others when they are treated with selflessness, which in most cases, is the pillar that compassion is built on (Chapman, 2020). A person should be able to value others above themselves; it will contribute to the greater good.
Honesty is a respectable virtue that one should have. An individual is only as good as their word; honest people earn plaudits because their words are worth something to the other person. Honest individuals have good characters (Chapman, 2020). People benefit from the virtues of others when they are treated with respect and consideration and are shown respect (Chapman, 2020). In scenarios where there is no respect or honesty between two people, it becomes hard for them to work as a team. It does not matter the level of differences that exist between two individuals; honesty and respect must be shown at all times. An individual should treat others according to how they would like to be treated. Sometimes a person may be going through difficult situations, and all they needed was for somebody to treat them with compassion. Such individuals will benefit greatly when someone treats them with respect.
An individual will also benefit from the virtues of others when there is integrity. Integrity is the most important of all virtues. No matter what one is going through, their principles will always be a priority (Chapman, 2020). When one is treated unfairly, they should still be able to find it in their hearts to forgive those who wrong them. Individuals who act with integrity are termed to be good men. People will benefit from the empathy shown by others. It is hard for people to be remembered for what they did, but they will be remembered by how they made another individual feel (Chapman, 2020). When people are treated generously, they will feel amazing, and so will the generous person.
In conclusion, people do benefit on different levels when they are treated with virtues. Virtues represent the character of an individual, in most cases used to determine the destiny of a person. Individuals who pursue virtues, in most cases, have good relationships with others. Virtues like the act of kindness, compassion, humility, and patience, when shared with others it helps them to thrive. Individuals who show selfishness and greed to others have fractured relationships with others. People benefit from the virtues of others when they are treated with respect and consideration and are shown respect. In scenarios where no virtues are applied between two people, it becomes hard for them to work as a team.
