Product Launch and Promotion in the Healthcare profession
Product launch and promotion topic was focused on helping students to evaluate priority issues in striking a balance between product sales and ethical thoughts. Also, the topic enabled us to distinguish key product promotion elements besides applying the product life cycle to product launch planning. Throughout this class, I learnt several things that I can utilize in my professional career: Healthcare. Various concepts and terminologies learnt are relevant in my career, and this is shown through the impact they have on my profession, as illustrated in this essay.
In this class, I was able to learn the different techniques that one can use to launch new products successfully. In particular, the idea that a good idea would pose minimal or virtually no impact in its target market if it fails to be launched properly triggered interest on how I would wish to offer my services to the patients. I should acquire and update my skills on how I handle patients under my care to ensure that the services I provide meet their needs. It is only through this I will develop into a renowned healthcare provider who puts patient needs first. The term product which denotes a representation of a complete bundle of needs satisfaction lies within my line of practice. Patients present varying needs that need to be satisfied, and through the concept of the marketing mix, we can evaluate them and provide care based on priority. Whenever a new product is introduced to the market, it needs to undergo some stages, so does my profession. As a nurse, I should collaborate with other colleagues to brainstorm, screen, analyze, develop, test, and commercialize a treatment plan that is driven to provide safe and quality care to patients. Moreover, I can transfer the concept of the product life cycle to understand how given treatment plans were introduced to healthcare and when they were terminated. Through the adoption curve, I can understand how staff from different units accept and embrace new ideas that guide patient safety and quality care. The concept of branding is also essential to my career. Through branding, I will be cautious in prescribing medication to my patients. Some brands are considered superior to others which makes patients to be driven by drugs whose brands are known compared to those that are less commonly used. Further, the key promotional tasks like desire, interest, and attention will guide me during service delivery as they highlight my role in meeting patient needs. Also, the steps involved in the adoption process will aid in health promotion and awareness to prevent the spread of health conditions.
